Trying this again
Hello again, CA. I'm Sylvia, a teenage nobody soon to join the ranks of the twenty-somethings without any prospects.
I've drawn pretty much my entire life but it was only until a couple of years ago that I seriously considered art as a career; unfortunately I suffered a motorcycle accident, lost alot of my self-confidence and have basically spent the last couple of years moping and doing nothing. I want to seriously try to improve, now, but I'm still pretty self concious of my drawings so this won't be any sort of structured journey. That said, I do have some goals:
1. Place in Spectrum (pipe dream.)
2. Update this at least once a week, preferably more (doable.)
3. Regularly attend a life drawing class and meet some new like-minded people (scary, but I'm getting there.)
I like drawing animals and organic things but recently I've taken a more vested interest in mecha and industrial design. My ideal job would to be a
concept artist working on video games and films. Anyway, this has gotten longer than I wanted it to so I'll not post any more unless it's to update
with progress. Thanks for looking, and I appreciate any and all feedback.

Thanks LePush. I do better when working in solid blocks of colour for some reason; maybe I should try painting.
I've already broken my vow to upload more than once a week, ugh. Just a couple of quick sketches; I want to do some more in-depth studies but I'm really nervous about my line quality and trying to improve it. The dogs were sketched from Google after watching Ginga Nagareboshi Gin.

Very nice goldfish, though that spike looking thing is a bit confusing. I also like your studies, keep it up!

Long time no update! I really need to keep this thing flowing.. fortunately, I don't feel too bad for letting it stagnate for so long this time since I have been drawing regularly. I'm also making more of an effort to do some studies everyday and I'm gonna try and make myself some notes on the fundamentals that I can understand.
The skull I started a small study of but I didn't really find it to be working, I uploaded what I got done anyway. The hawk was a quick photo-study that I started from a random picture on Google, I acidentally deleted the file, though, bah. Gestures are self explanatory.

that fish post is really beautiful. i'd love to see more of that. i agree that you should do more of that kind of painting!
it's a pity you haven't updated here more. i just found the post you left on the first page of my sketchbook a while ago..
whatever you're doing out there, i hope you're well
Painting depends on your state of mind and everything affects your state of mind. Use music, food, your workspace, your relationships and your intention to your advantage. Create an ecosystem of creativity for yourself.
[...] what concerns us here is not imagination itself, but rather creative imagination; the faculty that helps us pass from the level of conception to the level of realization.
- Igor Stravinsky, The Poetics of Music
