That is interesting.
Are there any other instances of that in well known pieces?

If I was that rich that I had 120 mil to blow. I'd go around changing peoples lives. Wander around town listening to peoples worries. "Oh whats this? You can't pay for college or get aid? Here I'll sponsor you.", "You can't afford the surgery that could change your life? Here I'll pay for it".
Instead of buying a painting for novelty sake.

I quite like The Scream, but not this version. It's also not the only stuff he did, he was quite handy with charcoal.

I had the oportunity to visit a big Munch exhibition in Bremen couple of months ago. What is interesting about Munch is that he is surprisingly versatile and he actually could paint realism quite well when he wanted to.
Seeing his "Girl sitting on a bed" helped me personally much in accepting his expressionist works more. Just knowing pictures like the some pretty crude looking paintings of the envy series are not a result of complete lack of skill but of a choice.
