    Critz for stuff

    aye lads 'n' ladies.

I was working on little something and I need some opinions, on style and may be some tips.

This is old name which I am using on this website, I use now Whiskered_Gentelman.

On a picture is my female lizard character called Elizabeth. This one happens after the battle, resting a bit. When I'll be colourling her I'll put on her some blood.
So far it take me around 5-7 hours.

    Hey there
Are you using any reference for this? If not then I'd suggest getting your hands on some photographs of female body-builders and also lizards as I'm not entirely sure what type of lizard your character is supposed to be - even if she's a fantasy reptile species I think you could achieve a more believable look for her if you studied some real-life species.

I'm not really buying the pose. It looks pinup-ish rather than someone resting after a battle. I'm not sure she could comfortably sit with her tail like that either. Think about how you would feel after a fight, would you pose like that?

My suggestions would be to mirror that image and get a pose ref. Right now the arms are posed pretty awkwardly (when posed like that, the right image side elbow would point either to the side or front of the character, not behind and the left image side elbow would be likely to point more to behind the character) and some of the muscles look more like randomly placed lumps.
Also what species/type of lizard is she supposed to be?

    Thanks for your opinion.
Yeah this is pin-upish and silly picture, and I do not aim for realism, almost always when I draw this character it's mostly something silly, she is silly.
Well how this size of breast can be treated seriously , especially on lizard.

Thanks for reminding, she is just fantasy species called Saurian.

Why I should mirror this pic?

Mirroring your drawing occasionally while drawing helps you catch mistakes, like lopsided things etc when you see the drawing with "new" eyes.

Saurian as in the lizard/alien people from Star Trek? Or Silurian, as in the lizard people from Doctor Who? Or are you trying to make up your own character species and I just watch way too much science fiction?

I would say, that for a character resting after battle, she is way over sexed. If you want her to convey the story -- resting after a battle -- she needs to look like it, instead of trying to seduce the viewer. I imagine that once she is covered in blood and still trying to be overly sexy, she will be much more confusing to the observer. If you just want her to be sexy and seductive, then I'd recommend nixing the battle aspect altogether.

Case in point. Although you could try looking up body builders if you're dead set on keeping the character sexy. I know they often strike sexy poses in their promo pics and such.

Maybe something like this would be helpful for the muscles and arms?

Well, remember that even if it is a fantasy lizard with boobs, willing suspension of disbelief goes only so far, and you need to consider where that line goes. You can't excuse everything with "it's silly/fantasy". At least those elbows you can't.

Agreed with with ya mate. I am trying to do something with dem elbows but it still look not to great.

I did not thought of that, thank mister.
