Kelsey's Sketchbook (8/2)
I moved my original first post down to my second post for easy editing
Welcome to my sketchbook, you'll find anything from figure drawing to perspective and occasionally flash stuff (edit: now studying characters, environments, and props!)- most importantly I hope to see improvement so any critiques are welcome.

It's been about 2 years since I was here last and I started school since then(studying game design), so I figured I'll start a new sketchbook and hopefully keep up with this one. I'm on my second semester and so far the only drawing classes I've taken are the foundation ones: Analysis of Form and Perspective, so a majority of stuff at the beginning will be from those. Enjoy
(these assignments were my first time learning/ drawing perspective, and for each assignment we were given a week)
Aaaand this is what I finished most recently last night. 2 point Reflection assignment.
definitely used my friend as reference on the pose

I am seriously loving your architectural and perspective drawings. Everything else here is fantastic, but the buildings are my favourites

Wow, I really love your perspective work! It's an inspiration!

My god, the perspective work in here is delicious.
Actually, I really like your style in general, including the landscapes and characters, but I still can't get over the amazing perspective stuff

Well, your environments make me want to leap into them and start exploring, so I guess they're working...
Have a look at my sketchbook.

Okay, I saw the Avengers opening night and I've already got tickets to go again tomorrow. ALSIDJFLKSDJFAS Whedon done good
Both used reference, the hawkeye one I kinda derped and gave up, and the Bruce banner one had loose reference applied haha

i'm curious to see your inked layout in colors, with the finished line you lose a part of the fun and the dynamic of the picture. (its already a lot better when you put grey levels => http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...7&d=1335500428 )
Your face from the 27th is cool too, make me think of tekkonkinkreet in some ways (Taiyō Matsumoto)
Well cool works, you explore a lot of different stuffs : D

Just a few sketch updates, mostly avengers, homework, and avengers related homework!
My first comic layout for my perspective final
my revised layout (as the previous version had way to many panels crammed into a single page)
And yeah, light-plotting and coloring are the big things I'm afraid of right now and really need to work on

What the... that perspective stuff is out of this world. I wouldn't even know where to begin if I were trying to create something like that. Great job!

this is such an awesome SB, congrats. I love your environments and since you're so good there's something I would like to ask you about. My most recent studies are about perspective, and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. However, I find it so hard to draw real architecture. I mean, I know everything's made of boxes, but it gets really hard to imagine buildings without references. Do I have to study architectural styles so that I know how to apply all that to my "boxes"?? Yours are amazing

Haha, thanks man, try it out! It's actually one of the deceptively easier ones. It's just harder to get a good composition
aw man, that really means a lot thanks so much :')

watchin netflix at 4am, feeling nostalgic, doodlin, the usual. I have a bad habit of not ever finishing anything and leaving everything as black and white sketches so I'll try to push this one a bit further after i get some sleep
edit: oh yeah, and since I'm still working on this one, critiques are totally welcome
