    Rockumentaries

I know there are a lot of rock fans, metalheads and musicians on here so
I just wanted to share one of my favorite things to watch...Classic Album Series from Eagle Rock Entertainment. They do the best interviews and "rockementary" type deals out there...most are now available to stream on Netflix.

Just watched the one on Rush:2112 and Moving Pictures. There's a great one on Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon, Meat Loaf (actually a brilliant look at how that came together), Metallica, Fleetwood Mac, Iron Maiden, Steely Dan...many others.

    Enjoy!
    What would Caravaggio do?

I love that Metallica documentary. It really explains why they have sucked since the black album. They turned into whiny, self centered yuppies. Even Lars Ulrich's grandpa though they were a wimpy shadow of their former awesome.

I love all the new music-related documentaries and concerts they just added to Netflix instant. The Iron Maiden one is fantastic.

Yeah - I just discovered the whole "Classic Rock" category this evening. Figured you'd like the Maiden one Dusty...and there's one on Sabbath too.

When I hear rockumentary I just can't help thinking of This is Spinal Tap, I watched it again the other week and it's just...genius!

Also I really enjoyed the Metallica's Some Kind of Monster doc too, I'm glad I wasn't the only one that thought they were a bit whiney. I tried to think of it more like they didn't take the documentary seriously at all and they were just having fun, especially with the psychologist guy lol.

I love Spinal Tap as well (I mean, who wouldn't?). Actually saw them on tour at the Warfield in San Francisco touring their second album "Break Like the Wind". Awesome show!

Spinal Tap is way beyond genius.

Also I recommend Pink Floyd's Live at Pompeii. It's mostly music but there are interview bits here and there.
Also if you're a Lennon fan then Imagine is a must.

Live at Pompeii is brilliant! I'll put it on from time to time as background while sketching. What a great concept - a live show in a bitchin place...with no audience! Very Floyd.

Couldn't resist posting in this thread. Anyone seen DiG!? Really one of the stand out 'rockumentaries' for me.
