    EagleGrove's Sketchbook

Finally I got around to making a sketchbook. Shame on me for taking so long.

Here goes nothing! A few pencil drawings and one color study of my juggling ball. The bird was referenced from a photo, the doll was drawn from life. I think everyone here knows that sphere.

    The avatar caught my attention.

The best thing about your sketches: you don't rely on lines, but use shapes and shades to draw. Which is fantastic and the way to realism.
I don't know you, so tell me: how long have you been drawing ?

    Keep going !

Thank you for the kind words!

It depends on how you define "drawing", I guess I have been doodling since I could hold a crayon, but I only recently got into "serious" drawing. You could say the serious phase started when I joined CA one year ago. I don't think deviantART counts, really.

Edit: Ah, forgot to mention that I'm 19 xD

Hey Hi you! really nice studies so far ^^!
As an answer to your question on my sketchbook, I thaught I might tell you here :p

So, there are many website I particulary like as reference! (BE careful, some may contain nudity and thnigs some people may be offended with!)
First of al, there is :http://www.posemaniacs.com/ A really good site for anatomy, muscle, position and movement of the body!

For anatomy reference, I use: http://inspirationalartworks.blogspot.ca/p/anatomy-images.html?zx=6d95d282fd203d1b really great!

For normal posing, almost as nude session, you should see those 2 websites : http://www.lovecastle.org/draw/ and http://www.artsyposes.com/

Finally, for concrete, sexy and nice poses I use for reference (viewer discretion may be advised) are:
1: http://x-art.com/models/ (girls reference) (really great for various pose, great lighting and amazing photo quality! ha models are also freakin cute (may contain a little bit of porn but mostly artistic nude, it's up to you) you can download most of their set free here: http://www.filecrop.com/search.php?w...r=1&engine_h=1

2: http://yellowasian.tumblr.com/ (men references) (really great for nice and sexy anatomy, the kind of body every guy would like to have! (may contain very little of homosexual men x men content, once again it's up to you) photo are less good quality than x-art but still, it's really good!

I thinks this just wrap it up, hope it might help you! keep on working hard girl! i'll be back!

PS: you should take a search on google about "Andrew loomis" book, they're free and really good for education and reference!

@Wavenwater: Thank you very, very much I would never have found those sites on my own! Now I guess I'm gonna take up anatomy again after not drawing a single human for... Half a year... Urks.
I have already downloaded Loomis Amazing books. Thanks again!

    @doris: Thank you!

@RandAlThor: Thanks a lot, more is coming!

Edit: Some nail polish. That bottle has a very... odd shape, which made it an interesting challenge. I had trouble with... Umm, just about every aspect of it, but that's what makes it a challenge worth accepting!

I hope it's ok to make a new post for every new sketch...

Dang, this one was awful. I see quite a few lines that could be better, but I'm going to quit before I get too frustrated. Still, I quite enjoy doing color studies.

A weird hairclip with a even weirder cast shadow and odd perspective. Whatever. Next object!
