    Llamas Drawing Thread

Hi all, recently got back into drawing after taking a few months break.
I'm 18 and I did a 1 year course in 2D animation last year. I wanted to improve my general drawing skills to maybe one day get a job in concept art somewhere along the line so this thread will show my progress (hopefully).

Here's a few drawings that i'd love feedback on.

I really want to put more detail into my drawings so i'll be working on that. At the moment they are pretty simplistic. Any comments and criticism is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks for looking.

    Smile

    Hello all,
Sorry for not updating my sketchbook, I think I got a bit intimidated to show my work. I'm going to be going to art school in a couple of months so I want to improve as much as I can before I start. I will be posting my work here more often because I really need help to get better.

Please don't be afraid to brutalize my work with criticism. I'll take anything that will help me improve.

This is a grayscale study I just finished of a vase after doing one of Matt Kohr's CtrlPaint video series. More studies to come soon.

    Thanks.

These two skull renders are from a few months ago and the cube is one I just did. I'm not entirely happy with how it turned out but i'll be doing more of these gray scale studies. I'm finding painting digitally quite challenging.

Hey good work on the skull studies man. Just with that last lighting study watch you perspectives, and i'm not sure if you got this from an image or from still life but you should look for the strong highlights because they come up quite clearly on hard surfaces.
Keep up the studies man and i'm sure you will reach you goal with hard work and dedication

@JonoKai: Thank you for the advice. I must remember to pay attention to perspective when studying other fundamentals, I keep forgetting about everything apart from the job at hand.

These are some 2 minute gesture drawings I did today, sorry my scanner is broken so I had to take photos using my camera. I hope the quality is ok. I figured it shouldnt matter too much since they're simple drawings.

I do need lots more practice on these drawings too.

Did my first environment value study, really messed up the leaves. I can't figure out a way of painting them convincingly without doing them all individually. Let me know how I can improve Thanks for looking. Off to practice, practice, practice some more.
