    Concept: RGB Sepiida
The RGB Sepiida has a strangely shaped (8 bit) shell to hide in when it meets enemies (like sharks). It prefers warm temperatures. Their fins make them slow swimmers.

whilst hunting, a holographic projection that you can carry around helps.
if only you could calibrate the RGB settings right . . . .to much pix-elation. . .

hope this good if enough for the poll, really had hardly any time to do this
apologies in advance if its to mediocre.

    Concept: Flamboyant Blockhead
The Flamboyant Blockhead is a generally docile arid dweller. Most renowned for their out of place coloration and solid forehead blocks, used for disputes over resources and females. The vivid coloration though useless for camouflage warns would-be consumers of their lethal toxicity, a result of the less than desirable vegetation they consume. If that isn't enough to deter a would-be predator then their forelimbs are a tried and true fallback.

    Concept: Michos

Michos is a paleolithic creature that existed in the deep forests.
He feeds on Luminous Dandelions which receive light during the day and shine during the night to attract bugs for reproduction.
He is a fail of evolution since his predators were able to track him easily due to his colorful scales.

Hi, this is my entry, probably too late as I submitted about two seconds before the deadline, but I wanted to try anyway.

It's an RGB gazelle that runs through a computer monitor.

Without a doubt ded got my vote! Great work, dude!

Whiskey_Sour had a neat idea by using the evolution of digital art, but I think the designs could've been a bit more creative.

Askew, I can't look at your entry without thinking of Barlowe's Daggerwrist, it's fine to get inspired by someone else's work but I think you could've played with other possiblities as well. Even it's environment is pretty close to where the daggerwrist is found.

Art is not about competing against others and being better than everyone else, but it is about competing against yourself and discovering your greatest potential!

Rob Powell: I knew when I did the forelimbs it reminded me of it, and I was a dolt not to double check the Daggerwrist to refresh my memory and modify it for a more original design. (The environment was kind of a fluke, I had originally imagined it more alpine/rainforesty, but couldn't get a hang of the BG so i changed it last minute.) Needless to say I agree with you about it being too similar to the Daggerwrist.... and -headdesk-

There are some nice pieces here, but ded's piece really pays the best homage to RGB color, and is also the best rendered and composed piece here. He easily got my vote. I didn't feel like any of the other ones had a clever reference beyond certain pixelated features.

I'm pretty sure most of these suffered because the WIP thread was relatively lifeless and stagnant this round and I didn't get the sense that feedback and progress updates were operating at their peak efficiency.

In any case, good effort to all who entered, since this was not an easy challenge at all.
