ChoW#285 :: The Horror SurvivorCharacter of the Week #285
The Horror Survivor
Design the lone survivor of a bloody and horrific event (Horror Movie)
DEADLINE: MONDAY 23rd APRIL 8PM GMT+1 (9PM British Summer Time)
Check your timezone!
This week, we would like you to create the sole survivor of a horror movie. The character design needs to show how they looked before the event and how they looked at the end. You need to think carefully about what events might have transpired, what location they might be in and what timeframe the event has taken place over. Also think about the type of person the character might have been to start with and what they are like after. How did they survive? Did they fight? hide? were they protected by someone else?
Your final image should be of how the person looked after the event, however the character sheet should include a before AND after sketch.
- Can be any gender
- Can be any time/setting
- Must be a horror story
- The character sheet must contain both before and after designs
- They can be any age
In addition to the brief, if you do not follow these rules, you will not be included in the poll.
- Files must be named: CHoW#285_Username (Files with any other names such as final.jpg or even chow285final.jpg will not be accepted)
- Finals must be posted in the finals thread BEFORE the deadline
- Final post must include the CHoW number and the artists username at the bottom of the image
- At least 3/4 of the focus character must be visible
- Final images must be accompanied with a basic character sheet in a separate image Character sheets should at the very least show a sketch of the front and back of the character and a couple of early thumbnails/silhouettes.
- Follow the brief!

hmm, cool topic.
I can't decide, humorously play off horror movie tropes or do something serious and original?

So I know the character sheet generally has to show at least two views of the character (ie front and back, etc). Does the character sheet for this contest have to show two views of the "before" and "after" characters or just a single view of the "before" character and a single view of the "after" character? Thanks!

Hi, the horror movie could be invented too or should be an existing horror movie?

Dread_Reaper The character sheet needs to contain AT LEAST, the front and back sketch of the AFTER design and the front of the BEFORE design. You can however do a full sheet for both.
elephant´s stroke Try to think of something original as we're not looking for fan art, however you can take inspiration and themes from existing movies.

one question, the characther must be alive? i ask this because, my idea was to make the character something like a ghost, that died in the incident, but because of the way he died he could not leave the world being trapped here in spirit, so as his mission is now to take revenge on the ones that killed him, i dont know if iam deviating too much from the briefing, or he could be like half death, or bount to this world by a machine, something on the likes of raziel from soul reaver, please confirm if i can continue with this idea or have to change it somehow
