    Learning to paint digitally.

Hey all, wanted to learn how to use my tablet so I've started this thread...

First image is from Neil Fontaine's pear tutorial

Also attached a Pirate girl value study. No idea what I'm doing with this, but hopefully the techniques I learnt from the pear will translate to the girl. We shall see.

Not quite sure how to make the attachments appear, so we shall see if this works. Sorry for the newb post if it doesn't.

Put the markers away and just used the tablet for this. Photoshop seems to do this weird shoelace thing with the line widths but apart from that, not too many dramas, just time consuming redrawing wobbly lines. Still pencil sketching because I'm not accurate enough sketching with the stylus.
I really like the felt tips for the stylus too. They're wearing out fast, but it feels so much nicer than the plastic tip.

Thanks man, I play it pretty safe with the whole cell shading thing, so here's some more 'painterly' studies. I really have no idea what I'm doing with blending etc. Tried out some of those 'I draw girls' tuts, but I couldn't follow along so gave up. Might try and find some more stuff on youtube.

1 hour flower study. I absolutely HATE going back to beginner stages with this. Very frustrating..
