Taking a stab at some sculpting here. This is for my mom. She does dollhouse miniatures so it's in 1 inch scale. The mermaid doesn't have a name yet so if anybody has suggestions let me know.
She's polymer clay, but I haven't decided whether to do her tail in polymer clay or in an air drying epoxy clay. The main thing I'm worried about is strength, since the fin part will be pretty thin. If anyone has suggestions on that as well I'd love to hear them.
I'm kind of worried about her face. Being face-blind, I'm never sure if they look right or not because apparently I have a tendency to exaggerate features and make them into caricatures.

What I do a lot of the time is rough it in in sculpy and "skin" it in epoxy clay.
So.... there's going to be a mermaid in the dollhouse? is it a fountain?
