    floating island

    Hi
I was wondering if you guys had any ideas about what else could be going on in this piece, I'm thinking of losing the rabbits and replacing them with some other creatures, give me all your wacky and creative ideas.

I'm not getting any sense of form when it comes to the shape of
    the island.

The same goes for your space background. Be sure to work from
images of real nebulas. The lights and colours appear purely
random and inconsequential at the moment.

Obviously this is a magical island, but even so, how would that large fish/dolphin
be able to swim in a body of water that is so small and so close to the shoreline?

Check out some images of rocks in space and look at their strong contrasts of
    light and shadow.

    I second everything StarEater said.

I can kind make out the shape, some parts are more identifiable than others. The bottom I find most confusing, I can't tell if where the grass and sand are together if it is a corner or not but where the grass cuts off to the right it doesn't continue to look like a corner? Hope that makes sense.

Also is the islands sun behind the island?

It looks like penrose triangle which is an illusion, so it's going to be hard to render because it's an impossible shape.

The stars are placed much too regular and they're glowing all the same. You need differences of luminosity, clusters of stars and areas where there are less.

Like mentioned before, the form of the island is basically impossible, so rendering will be tricky as well.

thanks everyone, i should have said it is an illusion and the brief was to make it look odd and misplaced. Any ideas what other illusion things a can put in there? what animals could replace the rabbits? because i wanted to have something happening on the grass. My other idea was to have a golf corse on the grass.

maybe dont cram stuff in, just pick a theme and emphasise it
golf course is like- why is there a golfcourse there. also have a 19th hole and people playing, flying cars arriving, the whole bit.

i tried to find any examples id done to make my point rather than just link to stuff but this http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...n/solaris2.jpg, was the clostest i could find, might help; even if you hate it, figure out why, thats a really good clue, at least as much as loving something is, i find
