More parts to the sets. The three sets are Heavy (a lot of steel mixed with dragon scales making it really heavy), Medium (leather mixed with dragon scales), and Light (Lighter scales mixed with minimal steel and cloth making it lighter and more maneuverable.)

I wanted to get the dragon design down first. Some ideas, I'm thinking of going with a variation on the bottom design.

Hi guys...long time no draw anyhow, saw this topic and I sketched some dragon heads for fun...

    @ Pixeltuner:
Really love your use of color and textures as always...however I have to nitpick one thing ;D if your dragon rears its head...the rider is gonna get beat to spit! heheh...

@ Rob Powell: Holy crap! love the designs, especially the second one..can't wait to see more

    great job all around!

Hey Nad and welcome! What you need to do is use the file manager. To do this, when you go to make a post, you cant use the Quick Reply button, use the "Advanced" one. Then toward the bottom there is a button that says "Manage Attachments". It will open a new window, telling you what files types are accepted and the size limits. You may upload from your computer or from an accepted web site (like photobucket.com for example). Good luck!

Aight, little update on the chars. mishmashed some armor and clothes across the gals and fixed the necks a bit. As for the dragon: Rendered him a bit more and made him less of a fatass

Hey there all, this is my first time participating in a ChoW rather than lurking. This topic just so happens to be irresistible. ;P

Just a heads up, this goes to the functionality of some of the designs happening, I'm seeing alot of saddles directly between wings, this could pose a problem, while hindering the dragons ability to fly i think there are going to be a lot of unconscious frequent flyer miles adding up from gigantic wings smacking the rider everytime there is a flap of the wings.

Thumbs up to those whose saddle is on the neck, not inbetween the wings.

Garkudion besides the previous statement, i think you should rework this a bit, while i like the approach of your design, taking it to a different place than the traditional look of the dragon, his wings, for the bulk of this mammoth tubby guy, are quite small and as of the moment completely useless for flight and by the position of his legs... hes in mid flight.

just my 2 cents, take it as you will, wish i had time to join you this week

P.S. Rob, is that 1st design Pyramid Head from Silent Hill??? ....like the 2nd dragon concept, its got a dragon meets griffon vibe

    Alvis Drake, Dragon rider

mmm, got a wedding this weekend so I don't think I can finish but here's a quick portrait sketch and the beginnings of the character study, going to try and keep the armor as organic as possible. Going for the Grizzled veteran rider who trains upstart rookies. The dragon will come later >.<

Reworked my dragon a bit to accomadate for DoctorDigits suggestion on the saddles. Also defined a bit more of the rider's outfit and dragon in general.

    Rendering tomorrow!
