SKETCHBOOK - my website - facebook company page
ooh yeah; did you know I'm a certified art-teacher? that's right. everything arty I say has been endorsed by the state of the Netherlands! (they'll be sorry soon)
I can see that, I just took a quick browse through your sketchbook. If I may be brutally honest though it looks like you kind of use them to conceal the fact that your foundations (mostly anatomy) are not super strong. If you for instance look at Jaime Jones' work, he does the same thing with texture and the 'illustration' look, but he has very strong foundational skills to back it up.
That said, I like what you do but it could be a lot better if you keep off the brushes for a while and just study figures and gestures. Just my two cents, all in good spirits of course
Tuner people, not Turner.
A mind that wanders so much, it brings back souvenirs.
I turning point in the life of every member of the Mixtli tribe is their first flight with their bonded dragon.
Of course any criticism will be taken in the nicest possible way for any who have time to give it.
The most beautiful thing we can experience is the
mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all
science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who
can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe,
is as good as dead: his eyes are closed.
Xeinnex: Yeah they (she, Eofn) changed the deadline; see post #251
I decided to ditch the previous versions, it was too static.
Started a new one, but can't finish it in time. Ah well, maybe next round...
Great stuff all around, very inspirational. So thanks all of you.
This was supposed to be Harrko the Mighty and the Great, slayer of Kings and mighty skywarrior. A very unusual dwarf in that he not only prefers the life above ground in stead of living under huge amounts of rock, but he takes it one step further.
The dragon Khazim is not so much a steed as a friend, that allows Harrko to ride him on occasion, to roam the countryside, looking for fiends or other evils they can engage. . .
