Lightbulb Featured Sketchbook and Utter Critical Beat down to Gain more Power! (see details)

We will start featuring a member's sketchbook about every two weeks or so. During that time other member's(allies and enemies) will critique the featured sketch work to the point that the "Featured Member" is batter and bruised. We will find each minute fault and problem and also find ways to overcome them. He or She will feel the combos and critical finishing moves of hundreds of ConceptArt.org "Allies and Enemies". But the reason of this test of strength is not to belittle the fighter but, to help them grow stronger and become more powerful. And hopefully find their greatest place of worth.

There are quick sketches to finished sketches here and much to assess. We will be able to catch many initial preliminary problems at this stage. There is much that can be told about an artist's abilities from just the sketchbook. This will work out well.

[NOTE: The word "Enemy" is used in a friendly and fun manner to describe someone of either equal or greater strength. Someone that one may rival with or aspire to become greater than.]

Well friends ..Allies and Enemies! Shall we Battle!?!

...please post any comments and suggestions...

This is a great chance to really help each other grow. No matter how small or large the fighter, no matter how young or great the abilities we all have much to learn and this will be a great time for leveling up our abilities. There will be no discrimination. The heavy weights will feel the powerful blows of the light weights, we will all feel each other's blows...

Who will be the first to go? This sounds like a great idea. I want in! Will you be the ringleader(or someone more high up like Android or so? Also, im thinking there wont be one because it will be a collaborative effort in critiquing.)

Will they be assignments or how exactly will it work?

We won't be thinking about assignments as of now. We all have enough work to assess.

I'm in, but be warned, when you strike me down I shall become more powerful than you can imagine:firedevil (though I suppose that's the point).

    Excellent idea.

Would you intend to feature an existing sketchbook thread? Some of these ( especially the better established and more popular ones ) can be difficult to navigate, and often contain far more comments than images. Perhaps a new, 'clean' thread for the featured artist - linking images already on display in their exisiting thread - would make sense? That might also give the option to archive the featured sketchbooks off for future reference; I find it just as educational to read comments on other's work as I do on my own...

I'm in, but beware. If you ask me not to pull any punches, I'll go for the groin, and that can hurt. But I'd like some harsh crits myself,to tell the truth, so I'm in!

    Good idea Joshua

Cool idea, I feel alot of collective unity on conceptart.org, this seems like a good chance for the padowan learner, or master, to become at one with their art.

Also these threads are a collective work of the artist's. I'm sure if this goes well it will be given the same attention in the Finished works. Besides when assessing each artist we can request more finished pieces to be posted in the thread to have a more well rounded view of the artist's abilities.

Seb I hope you are planning on dishing out some combos and of course recieving them.

    -Joshua

I'm in, I take a kick in the nuts like any man, that's right I roll around on the floor holding my crotch, trying to reposition my new kidneys. Roshambo away.

    ABOUT DAMN TIME

To coin a phrase: "I'm in".

So when does the bloodbath begin?

This idea has got to be the best critical concept for advancement of ones' skills I have seen in a while.

I am so, so in on this. Hurt me, baby, hurt me

    Cheers,
    ~Oreg.

    ...yowza, that was quick!....

it's gonna be hard for a guy like me with less skill to give harsh crit to a more skilled artist.. but I'll try to spot mistakes in the art best I can and make good critiques
