Game writing on the East Coast.

A friend of mine was supposed to get me some resources on this, but he never did and now he's in AWOL in North Carolina.

Does anyone know how a writer breaks into the business? I have a fair amount of script-writing experience for other media (film and video) and I'd love a crack at the gaming industry. If there are any links out there that I can check out, that would be cool, too.

    Thanks, mes amies.

Huh... I guess it depends on what types of game programming you're going after. I'm not much of a programmer, and only dabble in game programming from time to time, so I may not be the best person to answer this question. However It would not hurt if you already had a game or two that you designed and programmed that you could actually show to prospective employers....

Chingwa: I think he's talking about script/story writing not programming.

pconsidine: I seem to remember a good article on www.gamasutra.com about this, but it might require some searching to find. sorry i cant be of more help.
...so what if i'm bored, and ordinary?...
