Good work! I would suggest though that you try drawing from your imagination at least some of the time, because it's only when you can draw the figures/skulls/dinosaurs from your imagination the way you like that you can be confident that you've really learned what you set out to learn! Oh and welcome to conceptart hope you have fun here.

Just some drivel I produced this morning. I only made the viking guy in the corner from imagination, it's damn hard to make stuff without reference. I'll put more effort into it and do some more attempts today.

Didn't post for a while, busy with work and such.

I realized when trying to draw stuff from imagination my fundamental knowledge of anatomy etc is very weak, so I've resorted to copying a lot of Bridgman, Hogarth, doing mastercopies etc.

I did about 70% of Bridgman and a small part of Hogarth, but I will only post a few, as you probably won't enjoy seeing 40 pages of wonkily drawn body parts.

I really love your values. (: Your sketches, even the quick ones, are very enjoyable to look at.

Awesome stuff Burn. Definitely some improvement from back in March. For a beginner you have a keen eye. I think you should use that eye but push your imagination. Something I think I struggle with as well which is Y i see it here. You can draw what you see but are you learning about it. Think about the form before you start drawing.

    Keep doing those studies man!

Those rhino and elephant sketches are killer! I'd go with what others are saying and try to draw more from your imagination, just doodles even! Keep posting, you're doing great.

Great job with the studies so far, man. I'm already seeing improvement as well so keep going! I'm really weak drawing from imagination as well but it can certainly force you think about/remember things.

I started following the evening course at the Wackers Academie (drawing and painting academy), Wackers Basics. It's really fun although I had a very difficult time with the perspective lessons in the first trimester. Teacher would ploink us down somewhere in the building and tell us to start drawing haha

    Some stuff I made:

I actually like the portrait in tone only. To me it seems that her right eye is too far from the nose, but rather than that I think it's pretty good. The nose/mouth part reads very well.

    Thanks man!

Drawing/doodling with a hangover and a cup of tea. Didn't realize I drew the right eye too high, but too lazy to fix it now

edit: tried to fix it, redrew the eye in almost the exact same place, doh!
