    Art with Music

as I paint if music doesn't flow with the painting my art isn't going in the right direction

this may vary with others such as painting with a loaf of bread in the oven the aroma

I hope I'm not to confusing, I do tend talk in riddles

    what is your trigger

Definitely a personal pref. A few folk prefer not to listen to any music at all, I'm like you I put strong associations with art and music, but I don't allow it to dictate my work flow or when I should draw/paint. I just love listening to music and I definitely find it can help towards creating certain atmospheres, at least for me.

My music library is mainly ambient and really obscure ambient. I have different music for different genres, fantasy, horror and sci-fi.

I actually have a .mod music collection. This was a music format used mainly for amiga games and was incredibly high quality. I find a lot of their tunes just perfect for when I'm drawing.

Eh, it depends there are times where I'm drawing a sad scene, sad music definitely helps. Gets into the mood, though other times I'll be drawing something dark and listening to happy ass japanese music or something random and opposite.

If i'm listening to the right music it can put me into a trance and it can definitely affect the subject of my drawings too.

Best music I've heard - iTunes radio / ambient / DI Chillout and/or DI Chillout Dreams
also Pandora - Thomas Newman (film scores)
