    -Nerdgasm- ThreeA's Metal Gear Rex

    Metal Gear Rex

Despite being high-quality toys, I don't usually like ThreeA's stuff that much partially because I'm not that into Steampunk. I like Metal Gear Solid, not an immense fan as it often dwells in the melodrama but their tech is usually pretty cool. Not a big fan of the Rex either but I do like ThreeA's figure. Don't like the size that much, but it has nice lights and a railgun at half the price of the District 9 Exosuit, which earns its pricetag anyway through the amount of work put into it.

Not that i'll end up buying it lol, but surely it's interesting for some people.

Sorry Max I'm gonna call you out. You are coming across as pretty pretentious on the pop surrealism issue.

Thanks Raoul. Maybe that's just my need to be different lol.. a pretty intense generalization anyway. I'm sorry everyone. Anyone care about the figure?

Hey, I don't know much about designer toys, but I'd be interested in hearing people nerd out about them, sure!

I really like the looks of that Metal Gear Rex myself. Especially the blue lights.

Yeah, it's cool how they reflect off its surface like that. Would be great for some dim-lit diagram photography; making a figure look as if it stands 20m high
Maybe i just like it because i buzz out over stuff like this, lol

Same thoughts here--I actually saved the pics from that link for refs. Nice picture you posted, too. That style of mecha faintly reminds me of this guy. Specifically, this. (Although more of his machines are probably posted on his blog).

Nice! What is that guy's name? The first portrait on his blog is awesome, reminds me of Yoji Shinkawa's work. And that last one is really nice! Check out Ikuto Yamashita if you haven't already Oh, Yasushi Suzuki is another amazing artist.

//edit - let me balance this thread out back into figures haha, here's a product i'm kinda wanting

I don't know much about this, but the figurine looks really cool-- actually, it looks like concept art come to life, you know? I don't really mean that as a compliment or an insult, just that it has that concepty look.

I've always liked Shinkawa's designs, but I crave a model of this thing that I can build myself!

Yeah, a garage kit would be cool. But I'm really happy that Kotobukiya make garage kits for Armored Core!

Hmm. Googled him and looked up all of his blogs. He seems to refer to himself as JNTHED or JNT HED in every case. /shrug! Oh, and thanks for the namedrops--will check them out.

The link leads to the wrong site, btw.

Here are two vinyl figures I kinda sorta wanted a while back...
