There are some stand out pieces here, I like the flaming head dude I think you need to watch out with your saturation levels tho, for example with the last environment, the grass is the same saturation level throughout, whereas it should desaturate in the distance due to atmospheric perspective. Also you should work on your brush work, it can be quite messy giving a muddy look to your images. Try accomplishing with 1 stroke what usual takes 10. Looking forward to more!

Great work. You are too critical of your own work. There's loads of great stuff in this sketch thread.
    Love the Highlands environments.
    Do you live in Scotland?

    Thanks for the comments everyone!

toruk_makto: I'm from Germany, but yeah, I love scottish highlands type of enviroments as source of inspiration.

rich4rt: Thanks for the crit. I definitely suck at brush work. I often end up doing aimless, chaotic brush kung-fu instead of actually thinking about the strokes.

Bunch of anatomy studies and 15 minute movie screen studies. Trying to improve my brush economy with those. The time limit really helps to only focus on what's the most important in the pictures.

@Dahlium; Pete Hidalgo: Thanks! Feels really weird when people are praising my work because most of the time, I can't stand looking at it.
@wutangclam: Heh, thanks. To be honest, I don't read many art-books. I've read the essential Loomis stuff, but that's about it. I probably should read much more because I still have a lot to learn. Most of my studies are usually between 1 to 2 hours. I almost never have the patience to work any longer on a study.

Photostudy and Miyazaki movie screen study. I just realized today that I might be able to learn quite a bit from these high quality anime movie backgrounds.

Fuck me, what a load of crappy- oh wait, I was thinking of something else. This sketchbook is awesome! You do strong sunlight/skin tones incredibly convincingly.

great stuff dude! did you draw the 100 hands in one sitting o.o? you surely got them down pat though, i agree that you should use bigger brushstrokes instead of small clumps in order to create a less muddy look, i see you took that advice into mind judging from your latest stuff, keep it up!

Kvetch, Joe777k7, shyamshriram: Thanks a lot for the comments! It's really encouraging to hear this stuff.

IsaacEs: Yeah I did it in one session, which is probably the reason why they got progressively shittier as my hand started to hurt.
jimmyjxia: Thanks a lot, that's awesome to hear that I'd be able to motivate someone else, but I am not pro at all!

Bunch of 20-30 minute studies from today and my IOW entry for "dark fairy tale".
