    Varguy's sketchbook

Alright I finally convinced myself to open up a sketchbook. I'm a lazy person, a notorious slacker and I really have to push myself much, much harder. I hope this SB gives me the needed motivation.

Every comment, especially much needed critique is appreciated!

Starting it out with a bunch of studies from last month and some shitty sketches from imagination

Nice studies man. Seems you are capable to push the rendering a bit more and define some parts better, some of the studies look a bit blurry. Anyways very nice work man.

Thanks! Yeah, I guess most of my stuff could need another hour or so of rendering.

Some unimaginative landscape sketch from imagination.

Hey, it's good to meet a fellow slacker here. You're off to a good start! And, as you've said so yourself, I'd like to see you finish a painting. Don't know if it's the same case for you, but sometimes I get "drowned" in studies and forget about the fun stuff...

I know you want to click here. Just do it, don't be afraid!

I tend to get really frustrated with my personal work because I still make a lot of mistakes on a fundamental level. So I rarely finish any of my sketches. It's probably a bad habit, I dunno, just feels like I'd be polishing turds at my current skill level.

Another quick one from imagination, still sucking at painting water.

Really nice so far. Your paintings are very well done, I don't see any large mistakes in any of them. Keep it up!

Man, I feel bad and lazy posting nothing but studies recently, but in the past few days, whenever I try to do some personal work other than sketchbook doodles, I just stare at a blank canvas and have absolutely no ideas whatsoever. On the plus side, I think my rendering has actually improved a little bit!

Portrait study and some more shitty figures.

Alright from now on I reaaaally need to start thinking about the poses before I draw. For some reason, I'm just absolutely terrible at visualizing things in my head, which makes me just start drawing and try to make everything up as I go. Which ends in random crap. I really need to stop this brainless auto-pilot mode and start thinking when I draw.
