    Cardstock Adventures

All of these are pretty new. But the newest of them are descending. I think I've made great strides in crosshatching over a short period.

Aside from my totally unresponsive 15-person following on Tumblr, I don't have anyone to show this stuff to. Lol. So any feedback is appreciated.

    http://green-gear.tumblr.com/

I'm a comic hopeful. I want to do (relatively) black and white short story webcomics for a living. It's a mountain to climb and I'm currently unemployed as a means of exploring an art sabbatical. Fire away plz!

    Cardstock Adventures

Dr.Juice, the cyborg man of medicine.

    Cardstock Adventures

Not even a kindly doddering turtle may pass.

    Cardstock Adventures

    Tera-Cactus VS The Nuclear Crawfish.

    Cardstock Adventures

A succubus or some such thing.

    Cardstock Adventures

Devil Chad. Fanart done for Screwattack.com. There is no inside joke to 'get' about this image. The recipient is likely just as weirded out as you.

    Cardstock Adventures

An excuse to draw a chair and a couple of pillows.

Cool that you want to get into comics, try doing some sequential art too if that's the case. Even rough panels I think will help develop a feel for how to lay them out.

Haha I love the Golden Boy anime to bad it's so short D:

Great imagination! I like that your drawings all seem to have a sense of humor to them. Keep it up!

Lol, I'm glad you appraise it that way. I try to theme every new drawing, and make it worth remembering a week later. Devil Chad was a real mission, made for the sole purpose of making the subject--Chad, of course--go "WTF."

Welllll. I've got ONE I'm comfortable with sharing. It's a little old, though. Last year.

Lol... I truly hestitate to upload this. But hey, it was pretty educational. I hadn't done much fast-sketching in awhile, and the feeling came back like a comfortable old shoe.

I did all this in the span of 4 hours, using Oblivion to get any pose and perspective I wanted. And for once I'm totally worn out of drawing cheesecake. I feel like such a guy after the fact, y'know?

Oh and as for that "Devil Chad" pic up there. It did get a response from Chad. It's at 57:10.

    Warms the heart, brah. :D

Had some fun drawing weird shizznaw, as I often do.

Hadn't touched Sai in quite awhile. It was a welcome return. I feel like Sai is such an underrated program in this hemisphere.

Nice female studies and that monster battle, Bitchin! Dr. Juice is my favorite though, probably because he has the most range in regards to tone. Your pieces have strong line work, I think going back into them with a softer dark pencil like a 4b or higher would make them pop.
PS great start to yo SB

I'm GLAD Dr.Juice is your favorite. Dr.Juice is a very big part of one of my stories. ;D

I'm getting a lot faster with the process from start to finish. By this time yesterday I hadn't even started on a sketch for this.

    Cardstock Adventures

This music was a big help.

It's another freaky eyeball girl. But she's facing the other way, so use your imagination.

Haha. Oh the original scans HAD ground. An entire background which I was just...shamefully too goddamn lazy to bring to fruition.

I'll put this through Sai this tomorrow. It's gonna be a long one.

    Stay tuned.

I feel sorta defeated by this one. I am NOT good at drawing water. And I opted out of it.

Anyone have any recommended reading/watching? I want to get a lot better at moving water.

Character height chart of the things I'm about to upload next. I was happy when I finally finished all 8.

The 4 from the left are good guys. The 4 from the right are bad guys. If you have any questions about them, ask. u: I'd love to gab.

Good guys. There are 5, but the 5th was excluded, because he's a shapeshifter. A defining look is sort of besides the point.

    1)James
    2)Dr.Alex Snowball / "Dr.Snowball"
    3)Vienna (the samurai mutant frog-mermaid)
    4)Hion the Shadow

The bad guys. They have a leader who is not shown here, because in the context of the story he's always wreathed in shadows.

    1)Ziz
    2)Count Alucard
    3)Szorupca Szinjule
    4)Dr.Juice

This pic is inspired almost solely by a track of music. This one.

It's the setting of the second arc in a story I'm making. A giant nomadic floating plant which resembles a palm tree and bodhi tree hodgepodge. It sustains life wherever it goes, and human settlements cling to it wherever it settles. This time it was a mountain.

I'm drawing up a sort of campy superhero story about a nudist surfer. You can imagine it will find it's audience. But right now the project is a mewing baby. And it's tough to get the input I crave.
