cool!! new stuff i like the woman will she get a shirt too?
for the perspective: yep, sure that works. You have to set a new vanishing point. the second one will be responsible on how offset or tilted the building is.
Hey nice stuff you have here. Thanks for checking my sketchbook.
The upper blue line is incorrect. The lines from that building will follow the red lines to the first vanishing point, beacause the walls from the two buildings aren't parallel to eachother.
Edit: Woops I now see what you mean. I think you'd better give the front walls of the buildings a second vanishing point (certainly the buildings with the blue vanishing point). It can be far away though.

You have some really nice stuff here, all the more annoying that your so young, lol, thanks for stopping by my sketchbook. Is there any particular reason you want that building to stick out like that?, I think even with the second vanishing point it still looks a little awkward.
My Sketchbook Please have a lookie...
Good start to your sketchbook. You are working hard.
A few things:
-I think you should spend some time fully finishing a piece. As you move through a piece, you will have no choice but to confront your weaknesses as you go along, and then you will know exactly what you need to work on!
-Spend some time thinking and practicing your edge control with Photoshop; a lot of your stuff has the same edge quality, no matter if it's near/far/center of focus/etc. Once you get a better handle on edge philosophy, your stuff will begin to take on more definition.
-Do you own the book "Color and Light" by James Gurney? If not, I HIGHLY recommend it, especially considering how much interest you seem to show for environment concepts. He really lays out all the juicy details on color theory and light treatment in a very easy to understand way. I've probably read the book through at least 5 or 6 times in a year now.
Take care, and keep working hard.
-I often post from my phone; so please excuse the typosSketchbook
Kigard: ok ill try using another vp in my next session when i return to the environment.
tomcat: Hah, i just want to make it look different from the rest of the buildings, but if the stuff gets to complicated i guess ill move it back to the regular view and just practice detailing and patience
Style: thanks, but how do you guys do it(stay on one piece)?, i find myself overflowing with ideas and always want to try them all. Ok ill look for the book on the net,
Thanks guys for dropping by
Argh i keep on getting overwhelmed by what i have yet to learn.... does anyone else feel this way or ever felt?
Here some more progress on the rebel female
Last edited by Stpete; April 11th, 2012 at 03:26 PM.
like the update on the female I would just like to point out the transition from her face to the hair. Ok, some people do their hair like this, but I don't like that hairstyle xD I would make some flicks of the hair falling into her face or on the side of it.
Well, that's more of a personal opinion, if you like it that way, or wanted it like this you should leave it. Maybe she can't stand if her hair blocks the view because she's a fighter and stuff.
Thanks for your very fast answer on my SB ^^

Hey nice! Personally I think her eyes are a bit small.
Yeah I feel overwhelmed like right now specially when I see great SBs like this one.
I love all your sketches, studies, consepts,..etc
And that rebel woman is simply gorgeous. But I feel something's wrong with her hade
Hmmm I think it's the nose and chin. Her face's dragged backwards after the eyes.I don't know, check it out and see what you can do.Cause' this woman's gonna be somethin'
Keep up the good work~
So i decided on practicing anatomy, im gonna work on my anatomy so ive been working on skeleton from different angles then im gonna work on muscles then with skin, then im gonna do stuff from ref then from imagination. But first i need to some stuff for the game so my mates have something to do
Prototypt: thanks yeah ill fix her hair someday, it was my second serious face
Kigard:gonna fix them someday
Morningtea: Thanks really much! Ill fix her later
A tips for learning anatomy is buying a skeleton. I got one from a school material catalog for 2500 kr. Not the best quality but more helpful than pictures
And keep on going, strong pictures for being 15 y! Draw objects around you!
Ok i continued on this picture, wanna finish it before moving on. Ok my biggest weakness refining, at the moment im pretty glad with this loose version but i want to refine it! And im not sure how to start out ..... :c i thought of maybe painting a reference picture to see how it is to paint a street bu i dont know.
If you want to draw people well you should take a sketchbook and pencil. You should go to the park and sketch quick poses. Do not worry if people will move.
really cool landscapes!(something I really need to practice....god) they're amazing! i see you need a little bit more of practice with people, but you're already pretty secure on landscape and enviornment work! keep it up!
You have a nice sketchbook here mate!
I like what i see here, the environments in particular and nice to see your figure drawings become better and better. I think to use a fashion magazine or fotos as reference material is ok, but i think you learn much more if you go to life drawing classes or just in a park to draw from life. At least this helped me much more than copying pictures
Keep up the good work and never get lazy
Does anyone know how i can tackle my bloody **** edge control? Tutorials, exercises or just take my time and refine?
ok not many updates for a time now :c Fcking addicting skyrim and wolfenstein but now im returning to the super duper cool art, here is a bit of what i have done& working on. My brother ordered the loomis figure drawing book and color and light for me so ill have some good material.
