Red face I have a question about cut and paste in portfolios and sketchbooks

I have a question about cut and paste in portfolios and sketchbooks. Does CalArts and/or other schools frown upon this? I've noticed it in quite a few accepted portfolios and sketchbook. Anyone recommend this method to combine all your best figure drawings/gesture?

For portfolios, combining several images (especially several gesture drawings) into a single composition is a good idea, though I'd do it digitally, not physically. The sketchbook, however, is supposed to be a chronicle of your thinking process; pasting stuff in would mess that up.
