    Cover Boy! - Chris Bennett.

One or two people my be interested in this; I'm on the front cover of this month's Artists and Illustrators magazine with a four page feature inside!....

An interview with me is threaded in with the article and they have done an excellent job of getting across the general tone of what I said considering the hour long interview had to be subbed down. Fantastically good reproductions of my work too. I'll treat myself to a beer tonight.

Available at most Newsagents and Supermarkets...
Though not the prettiest person to have on the cover, I must confess.

Lookit choo! How many copies have you bought?

(I misread the contest as "WIN £600 OF PANTS" and I was all excited. I could use some pants).

I was once on the receiving end of a critique so savagely nasty, I marched straight out of class to the office and changed my major (sketchbook).

Will we have you in the centre of the magazine with two staples at strategical places? No, seriously, good job, congrats!

I was going to tell him he did indeed look pretty on the cover; but your suggestion of a centerfold trumps my idea.

    Well played.

You look like a cross between Lenin and Prokofiev. Got any Russians in your ancestry? :-)

Anyway, congrats: you are now officially a famous artist, and my own claim to fame is that I know you, if only online. Hmm, yet another name I can start dropping... :-)

    Bless you all.
I'm quite moved so many have taken the trouble to pitch in with a congrats. A lovely thing. Thank you, everyone.

Just a couple of specific replies.

Stoat: "(I misread the contest as "WIN £600 OF PANTS" and I was all excited. I could use some pants)."
That's a misprint, £600 of pants from M&S is in fact what you get... Nicer than using your old ones as rags I suppose.

Black Spot, and those talking about centre folds...: "I will be expecting a centrefold. Such a tease. Congrats. I might slip a copy in with my shopping tomorrow."
Inside I am featured doing a body painting, dipped in paint and pulled around by a tractor across a sail. The results may disappoint...

    Lawrence Humphrey:
That always makes me laugh when I google myself (surely not!). I either get this guy or a female Jazz singer. The female jazz singer is a lot closer the mark... and I kid you not!

Blogmatrix: "You look like a cross between Lenin and Prokofiev. Got any Russians in your ancestry? :-)"
I know! When I was at art school someone was making a little student film to be called 'Lenin in London' and they wanted me in the role of the great leader - but I can't act for shit...
Now Prokofiev (I keep laughing about that comparison!) I might have been a little better with since I can pick out the odd tune on the piano.
But no Russians in my ancestry, White or Red. My wife thinks I look kinda Scandinavian though.
