    Big Maori and Hyena

Ok some old and new stuff...different styles and characters.

The first one was for a personal project, big-weapon guy. Ant the 2nd for a videogame, trying to suggest some mood and colour beside describing the character.

    Hope you like it.

But the first one... the giant... look at the hand wich is holding the weapon... if look to the part the hand is holding it... You will notice that it is wierd... because palm is in bad angle or smth... but maybe it is just me

You have a nice global illumination going on in the first piece.

The hyena is really nice, but I think his setting could do with some more work. It looks like an afterthought.

    Hiya,

I really like the hyena creature the best, but somethign with the lighting bugs me. I just can't figure what, maybe how the light travels through the page. Doh! will have to study it more, but I really love how you have the texture on teh creatures flank it is very nicely rendered.

    Hope you post more sir.

As always take care, be safe, and farewell

Erm, yeah.. I really dig the hyena, but it's a bit wide of the mark for a Maori. Totally cool that you've taken some inspiration from the people and their art, but I'd limit it to saying you've derived some inspiration from them rather than saying that's what this guy is.

Sorry, don't mean to beat down on ya! They're both still wicked pics, especially the texturing on the hyena. Great work.

You're right dirty, more maori inspired than a maori itself

I think the problem with the hand is that the fingers appear to be at a different angle to the shaft of the weapon. The fingers should be opposite to the thumb, I'm not sure. Also we seem to be looking at the side of the fingers, really we should see the top, and fingers are different lengths, his all appear to be the same. Maybe get someone to hold a broom hand and see what it looks like. :alien4: Fix that up and you're cruisin'.
Yeah, the background of the hyena thing, the white/greyish area above it really wrecks this one for me, make it darker....*force persuade* :alien4:
