rishenko - Thank you very much! Yes, In fact I think it's safe to say that what excites me the most about art is dynamics and harmony in a design or composition.

Cojac - Thank you my friend

GEB - Thanks man, doing clean is actually very simple, before starting to paint, I divided the major areas of the ship into opacity-locked layers, there are only about five major ones, then, it's very easy to go in just with the default airbrush and laying those smooth gradients without losing your sharp edges.

will123will - Hey there, thanks a lot! I'll do that just now

So here's like a 15 minute sketch I did after a day of work, to calm things down, it's photo ref'd. I feel like it's getting easier to represent stuff with a minimal amount of strokes. Ah, Yellow craft to be done this weekend, no excuses.

Jaik - Thanks for the compliments my friend!

Jarrad - Hey there! Thanks! Ah, not really, I'm somewhat far...in London UK

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. It seems that everything I do nowadays is for work or a personal project that /we/ decided to keep confidential until a later date :|

anywayz here's some depth and value studies from desperado (love that fkn movie) and a self portrait that makes me look like what I feel inside. old.

I really love the structural quality of your figure drawings. Your understanding of form in space as well as the graceful attention to line and value is beautiful. Your work is very inspiring.

it is always a pleasure coming here and being inspired so hard.
I've been meaning to ask you. Do you know of any color theory books that have been good for you? You seem like you've had an ID background and I am personally interested in the theory side of things.

keep on giving me infinite jollies

Jarrad - Thanks for the constant encouragement, it means a lot!
I wish I could give you info on color theory books however I'm seeking for a good one myself. The thing I find most helpful was to try to really keep it simple. Warm light, cool shadow. Basic combinations like blue and orange. And I just steal color schemes from illustrations I like.

    Mr.Scribbles - Thank you Sir!

    polaritymechanic - Cheers bud!

jabbit - Watch out, bloody brains attract zombies, but seriously, I'm glad, thank you

    xbert - Thanks!!

tronrobot - Hey dude thanks a lot for checking out my facebook and stopping by here!

greymatter - Cheers man. I'm most satisfied to actually give something to people, so thanks!

    will123will - thank you!

Here's godzilla inked digitally. I'm more and more leaning towards lines, thats what I really like. More than colors and even light and shade, the line fascinates me, because it doesen't exist in reality and yet, it sometimes represents it perfectly.

NEWSFLASH! I'm jobless. I quit my job to pursue more interesting opportunities. (If anybody knows of a good way to earn money while actually doing something fulfilling page me)

Here is a SKETCH PAGE! As you can see, highly inspired by Salaryman (I'm not worthy next to that guy), And the inking style, particularly hair is inspired by Jim Holdaway, one of my greatest inspirations these days. I did one of these every morning before working on a personal project of mine, then slapped em all together like that.

    too damn good!
very neat studies, you seem to pick up a lot from them, it definately feels like you know what you're doing.
I have no crits whatsover, both drawing and painting skills are really quite humbling.
Those small enviroment thumbnails in post 102 are really good, love all the brushwork and texture you managed to put into such small pieces.
(EDIT: i just keep going back to there, they are so damn good- not to suggest improving these studies, butmaybe you could try something similar that mixes 2 different kinds of reference to produce an imagination enviroment, and maybe change the aspect ratio to make them feel slighly more "epic")
Can't wait to see more from you!

you're based in London? what studio do you work in if i may ask?
