NickyBeats I really like the industrial look of this guy. I would definitely include some wear and tear to that metal gear.

Yor The atmosphere of this character is already something I am enjoying.

fdisk I like the second silo the most. The design seems more involved. The idea of him retrieving intel after dispatching a target is what I see

Pixeltuner I really enjoy your brush usage. I would just try to aim for making this character more dynamic. I like the idea a alot, just try to open up her frame some more. Just my thoughts.

Ironbyte The 3rd one is my favorite as it looks like it could be male/female with it's veil type covering. The lighting in the mask reminds me of how a bug might see.

MasterTroglodyte I'm very interested in where this is going, as far as the ensemble you may be working towards. Let's see some more.

DoctorDigits It's cool how you are sketching up a potential assassination scenario . with you what you have sketched, I would make sure to push the anatomy ( exaggerated, it obviously is ). The left hand should be a bit more outside of the body area so that you can push the design within the costume.

YouAreNotAlone I enjoy your style, just make sure to keep in mind, this character has been out and about for some time now... he is looking a bit too clean... I think.

Agent Melon I can see you have no problem with orthographic perspective. After concept sheet I would try to add just a bit of attitude/dynamic to the character

RyNSWOrLD I typically think assassin type characters make it a whole lot more interesting (not too mention sexy :X ) as women. I chose a male figure simply because of my first sey of silos. I may end up choosing to switch last minute, as that is just how I work. Keep at it!

H4WK This reminds me of Time Cop or Jet Li's The One. The idea is very cool, I noticed the shoulder pads seem almost Napoleonic. If that's the case, make sure to spread some more time periods across the gear.

Artfix Love your work. Definitely hoping you commit to the idea

AdrianNargorski This character looks like he has spanned dimensions of reality, as well as, time. I like the concept, just try to use some reference for the pose.

SCF Great idea! He does look like he is hiding a rather serious/mysterious bit about himself. I think, for this character, I would make the hand weapon a little less noticeable, until you do your character sheet, or show some close ups of gear.

Rob Powell I like the idea of mixing 1 and 2. Not sure if I would go male or female with the design, but I think you could make something pretty cool with those two.

Mistermike Another cool idea, but let's see some more of the character. Even when giving a rough sketch, it is important to lay down quick body sketch, even if you don't flesh out anything but the top half. This helps you keep up with your perspective and the overall size of the character.

do9 The 3rd on the top row is my favorite. He/She just has a very calm, killer appeal to them. Awesome selection of thumbs though!

_Quasar_ I have noticed your hand for line art and it is very good, I am interested in seeing what else you do to this costume.

L.A. KARKERA Pretty nice helmet design! You could either do one of two things here, in my opinion; 1) Do more silhouettes so that you do not sell yourself short on ideas, 2) put a bit more time into pushing out the silhouette you have shown us.

mugenTaichou Anubis is one of the coolest in Egyptian times . Push further into the costume design.

JanJager Another awesome idea on behalf of your creativity

Medusoid I am interested to know a little more about where this one is going to end up as an assassin from the future. As I mentioned, in reference to Mistermike's concept, try not to cut the sketch in half. Go ahead and follow through with the whole body. It only takes about 30 seconds more

...oh, and here is an update that I threw together tonight. It's a bit sloppy, but running all day at work, and tonight on 4 hours of sleep, is wrecking my right brain function ... I'll show more details in my next WIP post. I think I am going to go with this sketch though.

Yor, awesome, can't wait to see this finished!
AWRECKINGBALL, whoa, that's a good point! i'll try to fix it, thanx for the tip)
This ChoW is a real challenge >=D
For now i combined 3 scetches in one (suit, hand and cloak) in one, and, thanx to AWRECKINGBALL, gonna kick my lazy ass and add some scraps\souvenirs\etc to make him look more like a time traveller =D
He's as lazy as me, and prefer to take a mass-assassination missions, like this one, during the Battle of the Ice, falling on the battleground from the skies and accidentally breaking the ice =D

@AWRECKINGBALL: Not quite sure what you mean mate, if your talking about a full body view I was actually planning on doing that but I was moving the lines around and didn't put them back where I was going to them. The feet are still there don't worry ^^

    Thanks for the help though
(and btw I'm liking head #2 the most for your design)

@AWRECKINGBALL - Thank you! I'll certainly fix the design further, although I got my head stuck in PS already. C:

I added another lightning source and started working on details (I'll fix the design alongside of process)

    Nice work guys!
Took a couple of my silhouettes and made some sketches, not sure what direction I'm going with yet, I like both of them. They still need some accessories they gathered throughout time though...still brainstorming, although it sort of turned to a light drizzle atm, lol

and yes I like a suppressed pistol to go with my assassin...

Art is not about competing against others and being better than everyone else, but it is about competing against yourself and discovering your greatest potential!

Latest WIPs. I'll put more details on the assassin itself (I'm not sure about her extended arm, though) and the portal she's jumping out to assassinate while I decide to what to paint in the background (maybe in middle of the historical city). I just realized that her bow's string is positioned wrong so I will correct that later.

Hello, here is my work so far. As usual forgot about silhouette study and jumped directly to the tecky stuff and first image that popped into my head.
For now my main focus is trying to break the stiffnes of my painting style.

@Artfix: Remember that he's gotta be able to travel through time, I think a glowing crack in the air behind him would fit really nicely, (unless he's operating a time machine) looks epic though, nice work man

So I think I'm going to change his left arm to have a control on it for shifting through time and a worm hole opening under him

    still very rough

first WIP . My idea differs a little .

I think if somebody has the technology and knowledge to travel trough time ( so basically to manipulate time on some level ) they wouldnt bother sending someone back in time to do the dirty work , where he could possibly get caught ( and questioned), killed or cause some sort of trouble.

What my Time assassin does is , after a rigorous training his body would be incorporated into a machine for the rest of his life , his society would thank him for his sacrifice he would be treated like lets say a dalai lama today ( in terms of respect ) his senses would be altered and he would become something more then human . That machine would allow him to see time as a constant tangible thing he then could manipulate with his mind . He wouldnt kill people , he would extract them from existence, like they never existed at all by altering time and space at certain given moments.

Partisan I love how you start with dark and paint out the light man. Its a technique I hope to improve at. Because I love the dark moods that it is so good at capturing.

Your idea sure puts a lot of trust in that tech and that man!

I try to avoid the temptation of drawing women in positions that are too deliberately sexy, but maybe I need to find a middle ground because I end up drawing women without character and the poses and personalities look bland and uninteresting, just something I need to work on I suppose.

Tweaked one of the last ideas quite a bit. Might go with this, not 100% about going with the sniper rifle yet.

    Hey man,

To be honest, I let the pen go. Even if I am drawing with pencil. I have a general idea (IE. the brief description from here ), then I really just let my imagination go. I try not to think too hard about the silos, and I think you may be doing just that. Try to just relax, and let the character grow from your lines.

One last thing, if you are doing digital, use bigger brush sizes for getting a quick bulk mass on the page. Also, using white (or negative space~ the eraser tool) you can cut into your silo and create interesting shapes.

    I hope this helps

    WIP #1

Well WIP so far. Have been on and off with this the past 2-3 days. The pose was referenced (for the way the torso and pelvis relate in that position).

Also the silhouette sheet. Its the first time i've attempted silhouettes but it gave me a general idea of what I could do. No doubt working with silhouettes more i'll get better at laying down ideas.

I still have no clue where to go with the detail on this girl. The energy blade is a placeholder for now. I'm still deciding to either go with a nordic feel or an Oriental/Indian way. First I need to iron out her face properly though.
