Elisa┤s sketches and stuff (updated may 17th)

    Hi everyone!
My name is Elisabeth and I think I have actually some very old sketchbooks here somewhere with an other account. But it was years ago and I don┤t think I want to show the world those sketches again (or at least I don┤t want to see them);-) So I decided to start a new account and a new sketchbook!

Anyway, as most of you, drawing and painting is my life and I aim to become an illustrator/concept artist/fine art artist one day. I mostly work with traditional mediums, like ink, charcoal, graphite, and oil. But I am also a happy newbee in digital graphics as well, I have just recently bought a wacom and I am now eager to improve my skills in digital painting!

By the way, I am from Sweden and I consider myself not so good in English (thank you Google Translate) so please be nice to me! ;-)

I would love to have critique on my stuff. I really want to improve and I hope that starting a new sketchbook will help me to get more focused and productive.

Here are my recent works, some finished traditional stuff (graphite, ink and oil) and some digital (speedpaintings):

Awesome work, you have a really good sense of lighting!

Especially enjoeyed the "Malmo"-piece, it has a nice atmosphere.

Your graphite work is superb. Very soft and calm. I love it.

I like your work; you're very good at capturing mood.

...and the English is fine, too

Your work is really interesting, of course accomplished, but what struck me was your composition: which is something I am currently putting more focus on, and, as was mentioned your understanding of lighting is good, I cannot think of any crits at the moment.

    Thank you guys!

Todays speedpainting in Photoshop! (around 1,5 hour) I used reference for this and I think there are some value- and anatomy issues here and there...

I got the idea of making some conceps of a "10 seconds later" follow up on the last painting, so I decided to make two quick sketches (around 30 min). Perhaps I will continue later with one of these into a final image.

    Character thumbs

This is my first time doing some character thumbnails (a school project for a short course in concept art I am taking), but it was fun and I think I learned a lot! I tried to make them loose and sketchy and limit myself with 30 minutes, but it was hard not to get stuck in doing details.
