    Learning to Draw

Trying to start drawing each day again.
Probably going to do assignments from the Concept Art 101 thread here on CA, "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain", and "The Natural Way to Draw".

Hopefully I'll continue to have time to draw during crunch.

(First Image is both of our self portraits done at the start of this sketchbook)

First assignment was from Concept Art 101 Thread:
Draw something, then draw it again with a twist from the imagination.

The next two are from "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain"
First is the self portrait, the first "real" drawing I've done in years.

Second is the Knight, it's a copy of a drawing that I drew upside down. Here it is rotated 180 degrees.

I'll let my drawing partner post her own work.

Good work! I think you have a good sense of the "thingness of things." Keep an eye on your proportions. If you're rigorous and exacting with yourself now, the habit you form will pay off forever. Then you can release your reliance on contour.

Alright, we're getting back into this after a 2 year abandonment of this thread .
We decided to restart the challenge, so here's my work from last night, the drawing of an object and then adding
to it . Decided to do something robotic, since mechanical things are definitely my greatest weakness.

Welp, I have drawn nothing since we started and abandoned this thread. Let's see if I can make it for more than 1 day this time!
Screwdriver and motorcycle handlebar. Not exactly the height of creativity At least it's a start.

Self Portrait Day. Assignment 2 from CA 101, and one of the first in Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain too. I ended up doing 2, and only one was for this assignment, but the first one looks more like me in a way... Next I'll do the part where I actually change the drawing for the second part of Assignment 2.

I tried using quickposes, but it seemed like I would need proportion/anatomy practice before trying to sketch poses quickly. Or maybe that's backwards. I'll try it again later, it's a fun exercise.

Adding the modified version to this post. Tried to change up the shape with some shading and other more subtle things. That concludes CA 101 Assignment 2.
