    Real life six legged Mechs!

They are used for logging in Northern Europe in soft ground peat forests.

    Amazing!
But don't think that military style mechs are here. These were built for a very limited ecological conversation purposes that I doubt they would find any military use.

Like taking 50 times longer then a backhoe to cross a forest?

    Actually if you must know,
The ground these vehicles do forestry on is peat. Any sort of tracked or wheeled vehicle would compress the peat... which for ecological reasons they don't want to do. This equalizes the pressure evenly and doesn't leave lasting impressions.

Also they can quite easily get past certain obstacles that would take ages for tracked/wheeled vehicles to get past.

man those are cool, too bad they're so slow though. I'm sure that if they weren't made for working on peat that they could make faster ones.

    Well hell, its a start!!

Now they only need lazers and 10,000 hidden rockets, to be used in an emergency.
