What would changing the resolution do?

I started drawing something at 300dpi and I'm just wondering would it affect my drawing if i changed it to 600dpi or more? Also, I'm planning to get this printed.

    Thanks! (:

Change it and find out. I know, but I mean, what could possibly go wrong? I will tell you that 300dpi is pretty standard for printing.

Edit: I can understand my Mom asking this, because she's 75 and thinks if you do the wrong thing with the computer it will implode and suck the entire Louisiana Purchase in after itself, but it won't.

    What would Caravaggio do?

Sure - it basically quadruples the size as far as memory and of course resolution. You won't really notice much difference visually but the dimensions will have changed too.

When you're blowing up an image, sometimes fine lines like hair will end up looking extremely pixelated. But if it looks good enough when you zoom in on it, it shouldn't come out looking too bad as a print.
