Composition Presentation 1: Design Theory for Artists
This is a piece I finished recently - I haven't done too many Blade Runner paintings so this was a fun one to do. Similar Threads Latest WorkArt: latest work Latest Work Latest WorkArt: Latest work

Here is a piece I finished last October for Topps Star Wars Galaxy series 7 cards, which they just released a couple of weeks ago.
Here are some recent illustrations I was commissioned to do for the latest issue of Star Wars Insider (issue #137) for their short fiction. Painted in gouache.
I really love the composition and story of the second piece. Looks like there should be a light source right in front of the monster's face? I'm not sure. The moody colors are great, though.

Thanks. The light on the Rancor's face was sort of a cheat. It could be that that the light is bounced from the ground in front of him.
Here are some background paintings I did for a 2D animated production, painted in Photoshop.
These ones I did when I worked for Fox Animation on Titan A.E. Painted traditionally in gouache.
Here are a couple more traditional backgrounds I did for Titan A.E. The top one is a scan of an old laser copy which has some creases in the paper, so the picture quality isn't the best.
