wow man i love your dragon and your work with textured brushes, such as the apples and your two newer pieces of the snow field tree and the seemingly half destroyed buidling.
keep doing what your doingcant wait to see more
(What i love about the dragon piece is your excellent implication of detail, you have put detail in all of the right places and lot of what you have done is beyond my understanding and what i can produce i hope to adopt some of practices to my own work GREAT JOB!)

some progresso...
oh wow guys, thanks a lot!
kuumehike : whoaaaaaaaa 5 stars! wow thanks!
Brave-New-World : awww you are too kind! thanks man!
Nice two those, the first one is my favorite. Maybe the perspective on the ellipses of the building's a little off, like they're not going all the round back or something. And the colouring on those dragons doesn't completely sell me on the idea that they're underwater. But enough nitpicking, the mood in 'em's pretty good. Keep 'em posting is all i'm saying!
walnut : thanks! yeah I've been struggling to get the perspective right for the first one...I'm guessing you are talking about the right edge of the building? That bothers me too. I'll fix it. About the second painting, I'm going for deep sea environment. Like, seeing deep sea creature up close with strong white light, so that they appear normal color and less blue. Thanks for the feedback, this is helpful!
...i want more... :b like how these personal pieces are coming along! nice updates!
kevin: thanks! this sketchbook is slow as the title says, but I'll try updating as fast as I can

yesterday's sketch.
btw Nowio, I think I forgot to answer your question. I only started painting 3 years ago, but regarding concept art position...well, it's really tricky. I was indeed hired as a concept artist 5 years ago, but the studio's definition of "concept art" was very casual. Often interns were assigned to do sketches for concepts, so if you are imagining high level painting job, my position didn't count. After attending GDC I realized other studios' "concept art" is very different, and I wanted to paint like them. So I started self training digital paint. Now I'm moved to Tokyo and working at a concept art studio. Interestingly I found my current studio's concept art is also different in terms of how we relate to each project.
So, if you are new to this business and wondering what you want to do, make sure you do reasonable research about studios you are interested in. Often game studios are looking for flexible people who can paint quick with variations. That skill is a little different from illustrator's talent, people who are used to spend longer time on each work. There are different kinds of concept art tasks too, from high level illustration for team's inspiration to more detailed concept designs for specific entities. My past job was the latter, and now I'm in a studio who does the former.
At the end, it's all about finding the best match between what you can provide the best and the client who is looking for a talent specifically like yours. Good luck!
Love the above landscape. Almost wonder if the composition would work better flipped horizontally though, might be something to play around with. The colors are really nice though.
Jenny Jacobs: thank you! Yeah looking from opposite side would make it look very different...
more environment practice pieces...
