Hello everyone! I知 new here, though I致e been lurking for a while, and I wanted to start my own sketchbook to hopefully get some feedback on my work that will help me improve my work.
Currently I知 an animation/illustration major at San Jose State University in California. I hope to eventually work in the industry as a visual development artist or maybe work in colour keys if I can get my colour theory worked out properly.
I知 really glad these forums exist, and to be honest I知 a little bit intimidated by all the talented artists here, but I hope I can get some feedback that will help me improve! (:

A glass jar study.
I had a lot of free time today, but had no idea what to draw so I grabbed the closest thing I liked visually and tried to render it.
Approx 3 hours and an egg salad sandwich later.
Nice pencil, personally I would have gone for a tuna sandwich- but I think the egg one worked out for you.
The first 2 posts give the suggestion that there will be more cartoons in here in the future- I look forward to seeing those
that pencil is nice! and I too look forward to more posts like the first
Thanks for the comments!
Nudging this one around a bit more.
Spent the day finishing this up. I also remember to stop and save enough wip shops for a progression timeline for once! (:
An environment doodle and some junk out of my sketchbook. The women in perspective is from a Hyper Angle book.
All freehand or are you using rulers and such? That room with the pot looks great
That's something, I agree which is why I ask. Your lines are so precise and spaced out so well. Good stuff
Only seven pieces of work and you're already displaying bold talent (and your own character style).
Thanks for the comment Orange! (:
Recently I signed up for a colour workshop being taught by one of my favourite past professors, Cameron Chun! - http://pthaloblue.com/
For the first session we did still life, it was my first time trying to paint something this complicated, but it was a really fun challenge.
I need to focus more on keeping my values from looking too similar, and making sure my whites have a temperature and don't compete with one another.
Also if anyone is wondering what is on the mannequin it's a Darth Vader helmet, lol.
About 3.5 hours.
I noticed my faces have a really bad tendency to feel/look very "hard", so I'm trying to soften them up more.
Finished this one a bit faster than expected.
Oh well, on to the next one. lol
@Lyraina - Thanks for the comment!
Some more junk. The first one was done off of a photo reference, the second one from an action pose reference book, and the last one is from the colour workshop I'm attending.
great stuff! I have got a few friends going to san jose! love the women jumping animated pose series. how long have you been using a tablet?
@iamkennstan I think about 8 years? Thanks for the comment!
I just played through Journey this morning. Amazing atmospheric game and just had to doodle out something for it.
Some more junk.
Reference for the forest - http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&se...stock#/d4a2pnj
The second two are more Journey fanart.
More junk. First one had reference.
some comic pages done for a class
Some studies from misc DA stock photos and a junk from my head.
