The first two character designs stand out the most for me. The clothing and armor is cool and your pencil skills make me jealous - sweet line thickness variation!

    Guys, thanks you so much!

The character sheet is done. That was hell of a ride, had a lot of problems and it┤s still not there, where I want it to be... but... but... enough is enough, I┤ve had it!

    Check it out.

thanks for dropping by! See you!

That was some sweet brushwork on page two. I appreciated that little tutorial on it.
Might try it out myself on some voluptuous models.

    Nice sketching going on here.
    Looking real good.
I especially like the selection tool pieces you did a page earlier with the white face that looks like an apple product. ^^

Great job on your charcater, dude! Loving the fact that you gave the lines some colors aswell. Maybe adding a shadow would have ground him more.
The face mirrors yours a bit, doesnt it? Donno if its the pose but your sketch seems more badass to me.

Keep on rocking mate! Expecting alot more greatness from you because of vacation! Yo!

Nice character sheet! I really like the concept.
The leather jacket could use some more texturing in my opinion, it captures the eye right away. I felt this particularly when i looked at the back view.
It had some texture, but still..Also the pants could use some texture. They stand out the most, compared to the rest. They have the least details.

Really nice sketches on the other pages! I particularly like the characters. And thanks for explaining how you get your crisp edges.
So it's basically a lasso tool selection, and then painting with soft brush, or only inverting selection?

    Thanks for sharing

thanks man! I┤m looking forward to the results ;D

So if it┤s apple, it must be good, I guess...

    Sebastian
oh, totally forgot the shadow, thanks! Yeah, I loved the sketch and unfortunatelly killed it in the process :_(

    BlackDelphin
I don┤t want to got overboard with the textures, but your absolutely right with the pants. The rear view is horrible in this regard.

You are painting outside the selection with a soft round brush. The inverting comes into play, if you want to push the values even further, but that depends on what you want to achieve.

    ______________

here┤s a little WIP fpr the current CHOW ("undead dungeon master"). It┤s a bit over the top and I┤m not even sure if it fits the setting, that has been defined, but nevertheless it┤s a lot of fun.

I focused a lot on getting an interesting design and bringing the character to life. I made the crucial mistake beginning with no sketch whatsoever, just going from head to toe. Now I┤m stuck at the legs again

thanks for dropping by! See you!

Oh, this sketchbook is lovely. The improvement from the first page is staggering ahaha. Looveee seeing all the studies you do, and your pencil work is gawwgeeouusss. I'm also like, in /love/ with your undead guy there, ahah! He has so much life to him. (cue irony jokes)

the dungeon master design looks real interesting, may have to change the angle of him to make his legs work, but i love how you've gone with that particular style, it suits more Gothic themes like this one, digging the overall design.

I think it's a great thing that you're pushing it over the top, push it even more man! really accentuate the features that make him the undead dungeon master.

Looking forward to the finished result, looks exciting.

You have a great range to your style and your studies are pretty amazing too. I like the way you do skin tones and texture, it's believeable but not overtly tight, which actually makes it more lifelike to me.

    Can't wait to see more.

    ______________

For now only the finished dungeon master.

I have a lot of fun with these pencil brushes (http://muddycolors.blogspot.fr/2012/...ep-sketch.html). Feels more natural now drawing digitally. Give it a try.

I try to follow the form more and more with my strokes. I┤m not too familiar with human anatomy, muscle positions etc., but this dead walker is not really human, so you can play outside the rules a little
In general I noticed on several occasions that it┤s easier for me to feel the form (especially with foreshortening involved), when I just start creating planes instead of going for outlines like usual. But that takes time and getting a feel for precise pencil strokes is still my main aim.

thanks for dropping by! See you!

hey dude, nice sketchbook ! for the last character, the only thing i'd say is to modify the deltoid, it's way too big compared to the volume of the arm, and i understand you wanna play a bit with proportions, exagerrating this and that, but it has to be in an appealing way, but the way you modified the deltoids is not really working ya know ! anyway, keep it up, and keep working hard !

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I readjusted it quickly, but I liked the previous version a bit more. The heavy shoulders give him some strenght and a more beastlike appearance.

here┤s again a color experiment doodle

    Sebastian thanks, mate!

Character line art from the black silhouette below. I want to develop it a bit further, spend more time on the concept... maybe creating a little world around him. Let┤s see.

    Hey people!
Here are some studies and imaginary portraits. Attacking my problems with the female body and proportions, as you can see.
If I would look at my total count of drawn characters and figures, I bet that only about 10% are female (maybe even less). That doesn┤t look good an a resume, I guess
