Art is not about competing against others and being better than everyone else, but it is about competing against yourself and discovering your greatest potential!

Hello everybody, it seems that I'm just a bit late for this one, noticed that the challenge ended just as I finished my image. So I will post it anyway as I worked a bit on it.

This was an interesting subject and I got inspired by mongolian riders and some medieval festivals that i saw mainly in Italy, I think. The idea is that the centaurs live in a land similar to the mongolian relief, and they now have a peacefull and prosperous civilization. The rendez vous point is a simbolic gate between a large plateau and the lush forests of the mountains nearby. This "gate" celebrates the settlement of the centaurs in these forests(probably after a war with an enigmatic enemy or the conquest of some other people that inhabitetd the forests) and is the place for a festival in witch the centaurs keep the memory of their nomadic ancestors by a series of challanges that involve leaving for steppes and achieving a series of goals that rememorize expierinces of the life on the plateau. I tried to represent te start of these challenges.

    Good luck to all.
