    timo's sketchbook

    Hey everyone !

My name is Timothy Rodriguez i'm 20 and at the moment i'm working in a french video game company as an illustrator.

It's been a while since i last posted in here, my old sketchbook has drown and all the images went down, so why not making a brand new shiny 2012 sketchbook !?

Alright.. enough said, let's begin this brand new sketchbook

some figure drawings from mind mostly, just bought some Bridgman books, it's just fantastic ! i've got so much to learn..
(excuse for the really low image quality, i'll get my old scanner back as soon as possible)

a couple of ipad still lifes using the app Brushes

some still lifes again made on photoshop this time

    and a photo study

    thanks for passing by !

Kino_PuA: Thanks a lot man ! I'm trying to keep a good workflow.

Bakker: Glad you like them, thanks

mushroomz: thanks a lot poto i'm really doing my best to kick those weaknesses I have, and you're really helping me to do so Go update your sketchbook now, i now you've been doing some kickass new stuff !!

Pkmike: thanks mate, you're really kicking my ass lately, you're improving so much that's scary !! D:

Vablo: ah thank you i'll try to do some new still lifes this week, keep up the good work too ! you've got some solid studies lately, getting better and better

Sebastian Gromann: thanks humm for the environments i'm having a bit of distance with them lately, i really need to improve my anatomy/volume/construction overall.. but hey i'll give it a try hehe.

rastaray: yeah the ipad is great for painting even with no pen pressure, i'd say it's even a good point because it breaks your bad habits and you have to think of each stroke you put down, really good exercice to become more accurate.

blindshot: thanks i didn't draw the cup using the ipad, i wish i could hehe, i've used the App called "Brushes" and a Pogo stylus from wacom named "Bamboo".

merl1n: thank you i'll try to do some more still lifes :p

Anyway thanks everyone for the kind words, i can only push my skills further thanks to you, you guys are a blast !!

So back to my shitty pencil exercices, some figures are from Bridgman, but most of it is from head (yeah that's why D.
But seriously this is all crap haha, i'm really not proud of any of these, i gotta kick my ass way harder..
Actually that's what i'm doing, but you won't see it untill the next update HAHA. Oh yeah and i should get back my scanner next week, so no more ugly cellphone pics i promise

    30min study

    crap experimentation

    a study again

    a brain puke

again some sketches, some Bridgman studies then trying to apply what i learned

and a 30min lunch study to finish with

See you later guys < 3 (next update really soon )

SpiralHorn: haha i like your term too thank you!
    ~Twig: thanks a lot

    Alright it was about time!
sorry for the long wait, i don't have much freetime to scan things and it's not really worth it since i'm learning/studying things,
i mean i know i gotta work harder and keep pushing it to the next level soo yeah i just prefer spending my time drawing instead of making a new post everytime i grab a pencil.
But still here i am ! posting things.. oh well that just doesn't make sense >.>

studies studies studies, might be boring to look at but i'm having fun doing these actualy..

    some markers studies

    some Bridgman studies

some perspective/construction pratice, those are soooo fun to do btw

some anatomy studies, some from Bridgman again and from Kevin Chen

AND something personnal at last, i was having fun using some fresh made brushes.. but yeah i'm really sorry not to do more personnal things, maybe next time.. who knows

    thanks for watching!

The studies look sooo awesome, both digital and traditional, and the brush testing picture has great colors on it.
Thumbnails are also pretty neat and great that you have tried different approaches on them.

    But... you know... update!
