    The Sketchbook of Emyson

    Whats going on CA,
OK I've been trying to start a sketchbook for a very long time now.
Time though refuses to cooperate, but I decided enough is enough!!
    So here we go.

So far I really like the third image in your first post, the figurative study. I think it's great that for the moment you're working in black and white; that will really help you focus on improving your value. For a crit, your imaginative work doesn't seem to be enjoying the same value range as your images from reference. The last image in particular is stuck in the middle value range. Pushing the values will improve the sense of volume and form. But, on the other hand, be careful that you don't overuse your highlights - that leads to the surface feeling shiny and plastic-like (like in that figurative study). On matte surfaces, like skin, be frugal with your lightest paint and use it sparingly. Other than that, keep up the good work!

Thanks for the tips Dierat, I'm actually trying to put it in practice in this WIP. Still got ways to go though.

Its been almost a year, been busy trying to get things on track for myself. I have a few new works to show, and critiques would be greatly appreciated
I have a WIP character, a study, and two landscapes to show.

Great stuff. Your values look pretty good, I think your whites could be a bit whiter still. Good start, but try to update more often.

Thanks for the feedback. Yea i agree, I need to get more work in here, my schedule is much more free so it should happen. I'm still working on pushing my values, should probably do some exercises.

Well this is a WIP I'm working on.

@Jules- metal was the bane of my existence for the longest time lol.
@mustawad- yea man, it was really tough trying to fit this in my schedule, but I'm finding time now.

Really appreciate the comments, they get me motivated to make more art.

Well I have a small update on my WIP,and this random weird robot looking sketch thingy.
