Great to see that you aren't afraid of bigger works and also working on the details after defining the main things. On your traditional works I could see, that you have a clear line. That's nice to see. Maybe you could practise the shading with a pencil a bit more, but in general I would say that you are on a good way.

Nice updates man. I love the feel in the painting in post 54. Though increasing the value rang a bit more would help, maybe add some brigther values somewhere to guide the eye around abit more.

Topcross: Thanks so much my friend! As usual, I totally agree with your crit. Having a wider range of values is something that I really need to work on!

Finally a little tiny update! So much going on lately, Im still working on that secret project (which will be announced very shortly!). And I got a job offer to do all the artwork for an indie game. I just need to show the guy what I can do and see if I get the job!

In order: The makings of my next Sphere CCG card, work in progress character concept for the secret project, and a PlayStation 2 done for the job offer.

    Wish me luck!

Well that PS2 I made really landed me that job, however I was unable to accept for the reason that the head of the indie development team wouldn't allow me to split my attention. Oh well, more time to focus on the project. Which is called SODWA. AKA Super Omega Deathbattle Warzone Apocalypse: The Most Dangerous Game Ever Made.
    Crazy, huh?

We're even doing a contest using Hero Machine. Make a cool character and get it illustrated by a professional!

Well, anyways. Here's some art! Two bad interiors and WIP that I plan on really polishing up. Crits are always welcome!

FINALLY! It's been way too long since my last update. Only a month but it feels longer. Got the finished ruins, another enviro for SODWA, and few fun sketches.
    Crits are appreciated!

Jaik: Thank you I still can't believe I only got serious about drawing just this year... So much work left to do!

    aks9: Thanks so much!

Here's two little practice bits for the 100 theme challenge.

The themes are 1) Introduction and 2) Love.
I plan on making number 2 a futuristic Romeo and Juliet balcony scene.

I need your critiques to get better!

First upload in a while. Not much to show really. Things have slowed down a bit since I finally got a job.

But today I decide to change that! I will avoid the fundamentals no more!
I will try to do an hour of practice everyday separate from whatever project I'm working on.

And heres the first batch... my first gesture/figure drawings in a long while. I did a referenced portrait but that was so bad I think hold off on uploading it!

Comments and critiques are always appreciated!

Oh and congrats to the human race on the landing of the Curiosity!

Another 30 min exercise and 40 min figure.
Not the best gesture drawings I've ever done. Look the hands on the girl at the bottom... SO small...
I hope I learn to speed up.

I wonder how long I'll be able to keep this up once school starts...

Hey man, nice work! Keep pushing though, and push those values, try to round out your forms a little more.

If you are showing everything you do I would sugeste more boring studyes and less finished pieces. But you can do anything you want. After all fun is important too.

dude, i find you should do a lot more thumbnails before doing your illustrations, in order to get better shapes and values arrangment ! right now composition is the weakest point in your paintings, check out loomis' book called " creative illustration " ( free pdf available everywhere on internet ! ) got tons of interesting stuff on composition, guidelines, patterns, etc, would be really useful for ya !

Talk about working hard....you have some very nice gestures and studies here. I also really like that astronaut piece....I think you did a good job with the values.

bish0p2004: thanks for your kind words

Woo just got a little illustration job for an iPhone game! Not sure about payment yet but what really matters is the experience.

The game is about Hannibal. You know, that badass that marched on Rome with an army that included war elephants.

Here are the beginnings of my first illustration on this project: the main menu screen.

Well I started a digital painting class at my community college! We're using gigantic Cintiq displays, pretty cool. The class is all about Painter. But I hate Painter so I'm working in PS.

Day 1: Tracing. Day 2: Tracing. I couldn't stand it so I just did what everyone was tracing just from observation.

Here's the work from the first days of class... The women are Georgia O'Keeffe

(the young Georgia is a WIP)

    The apple is from imagination.
