Omg, you are improving like crazy oO Wanna keep up...love your new schedule. Stick with it. It seems to work out. Your latest piece reminds me a little bit of algenpflegers way to draw human bodies. Nothing wrong with it though. Keep going! You are doing great!

    wow, one month down!
schedule worked out okay I guess. I only hit 16/23 days the way I wanted to. I think it is actually gonna be worth 20 minutes of scanning each night just so I feel obligated to keep going every day. So I'll be back to daily updates basically no matter what. (although I won't have computer access this weekend :| )
I basically ditched my guidelines of what I should be spending time on, but I still spent the time drawing and painting so I'm happy about that. Also it looks like limiting my time spent on homework has worked out because I have a 4.0 in every class right now

I decided to draw something similar to what I drew on the 8th (for comparison) I'm gettting bettar!

Really loving those environment studies you are doing, they'll hopefully help you expand your range. Also, your lines have become quite strong, and those sketches are a pleasure to look at.

Nothing constructive from me this time around, I'm afraid. Just keep doing your thing.

I really love your work ethic man! You are gonna be kicking some serious ass by the time you're 20. Stop making the rest of us look lazy

I thought I'd do a little sketch here to show you how I would approach the king of hell you did. In your initial sketch you had a little guy down at the bottom, and I really love that since it completely changes the scale and makes the picture much more interesting. By taking him out and putting in all the skulls which give a new sense of scale, you lost out on an opportunity for extra interest.

So in my rough sketch below, I will hopefully show you one direction you could have gone--emphasizing the scale (yeah it's a messy two minute scribble, but the point is not in the execution, it's the idea). In the current way you painted it, the horizon line is somewhere around the guy's chest. I put the horizon line super low to make us the height of the little dude at the bottom, and now we are forced to look up at the king and be all "holy shit he's huge!". I also put an extreme 3 point perspective which pushes back his head and torso making them seem really far away. Lastly, notice how I cropped the image very tight? You don't need the whole throne in there; it is superfluous. The image is about the king, not his chair. So any unnecessary space around you can just crop out as it is a waste.

Uuugh I feel terrible. This week was finals week and I literally did not draw once all week. I got 4.0s in everything this quarter at least. Anyways, done with school for the year. I got one more year till I'm done! I'm going to be traveling a lot all summer, which means you probably won't hear from me for quite a while (starting this weekend).

Here's something fun I started doing today: I got some of the art descriptions for some magic cards that I'm not impressed by the art on, and redrew them my way.

Cool updates mate! I like the teeth in the armour guys helmet. For the magic cards I suggest you do a few thumbnails, think about the horizon. If you place it low then we will be looking up at that monster dude which will make him seem more menacing, instead of straight on. Keep em' coming!

Hey man like the pencils good style and confident lines, general proportions are good, do gestures and anatomy studies. It will sort out the stance/weight distribution and make them look more natural which will help a lot. Out of the figure face seems to be weakest, just looking at loomis for proportions and the basic build up of structure will give you a much better face for constructing faces.
Also do digital studies of envs to build up your composition repertoire and practice values.
Over all things are looking good though there are things that you can improve on quickly that will make a big difference
