Art School Portfolio
Hi, there! I'm going to make an application for colleges(illustration course). And i haven't decided about portfolio yet(i know, im slow ;D) This is my "portfolio" ver 1.0.
Please give me some feedback and advises, on how to improve my portfolio(what I should add and so on). I still have some time to upgrade my portfolio. So please, help!) (also I must get some scholarships %) )
They're not scanned yet. So quality maybe is not good.
(btw. this is not photo ref.)
These ones are from my sketchbook(I still don't know whether to add them or not). And of course they are from life.

This one doesn't belong in a portfolio. Avoid gore and other things that may seem innappropiate for some people.
And since you're going to apply for an illustration course, you might want to have some exaples of images that tells a story and have more complex composisions. (your typical illustration).

I would say add more figure drawing and life studies like plein air. Show them you know the basics and add a few of your personal work or sketchbook pages.
Try not to show them anything that you feel is not the best for you portfolio, because if you have doubts then so will they.
i like the subjects you chose except the one with gore. Try not to put gore, fan-art, copied work into your portfolio. Everything should be drawn from life, your own photo reference, or your own imagination.
