    ksen's scrapbook [last update 11.01.13]

    *update*
Sup. Kinda didn't update for almost half of year. It doesn't means I stopped drawing. Well there is some updates at 3rd page. Doodles, speedpaints, studies, etc. Check it out.
    Thanks for visiting!

    *almost original post*
Hello guys, finally decided to start a sketchbook here.

Have some experience in traditional art, but now doing mostly digital art.
Age is 24, drawing since 19. Seriously get into this and decided to make for a living from drawing just at last year. Can really use some good critique.
This sketchbook updating somewhat frequent (yeah, right, said my 09.12.2012 self). Sometimes with long pauses between them, cause I'm lazy to post.

Today's share - first good self-portrait and some random cars ( here is timelapse video for them - http://youtu.be/Bf1oMP8zvqw ), some older works you can see at Google+. (links at signature)

2 Gibi Thanks for welcoming and compliments! Still I have a ways to go.
2 Alrap Glad you liked them, cars are so easy to draw
2 JFierce I guess a lot of drawing with pens and pencils helped for that. Thanks! Will post every day, and hope will gain a speed, numbers and quality soon.

I'm really no good with people portraits (as you can see below), so will study them for some time. Especially I need now grasp the "Slavic people" feeling.
Started with some heads without reference from imagination. Will continue drawing from photo and soviet's posters tomorrow.

it is the eyes that don't sit right with me. Find some good photo refs and focus on the spacing of the eyes. Other than that really good sketchbook Keep it up

2 phoenicorn Thanks for advice and for checking my sketchbook, I will do so! I think there is some problems with jaw and mouth.
Today's share - some working stuff. tried to render 2 heads (again not so good) and decided to fixing problems in workflow. So I'm doing now some sort of soviet poster thing for a website and here it is with some fast colors.I guess worker's head is not big enough at back.
Wanted to draw more, but after holidays just can't get enough sleep. I hope tomorrow's share will be better.

2 KrispyKream Thanks! Spaceships are not so good thought. Did you want to say "good work, firend" on russian?

Yesterday's post was eaten by spam suspicion (like will post after mods check), and wasn't posted after some time as I hoped. well, it was my fault to attach to many images. and there wasn't interest sketches anyway.
So today's share is worth of 2 days:
firstly yesterday's sketches, (created square brush. I love squares!)
Then here is Han Solo study, (was unable to render him fully, may be later)
and some chaos marine thing, very fast one.
p.s. doubt that will post here work stuff, only if it will be interesting.

Well, I hope I get out from that slump and will be able to push myself more.
This time random hug-wanna robo and girl-robo sketches.
Will choose couple of them and render as good as I can. Then switch to fantasy characters.

This is arguably the best thumbnail image ever. Also I really like the design of your mechs.

2 Lav Oh, thank you! You are flattering me, really. =) I'll try to post more frequently for sure, just still can't get used to draw after work. Must... Use... FORCE!
2 Ixallus Haha, thanks. =) That self-portrait really came out nowhere, just sketched it suddenly well, when I'm sucks at it. Thanks for kind words! I'll try to keep it up!

Okay, it's weekend time. I really need to create finished one piece work so WIP! So here is a detalied sketch based on previous cyborg sketch.
    Mosters kinda zergish, I know.
(looks at time. dammit, it's soon 5 AM here. I need speedup this kind of sketching, but I create a good base for coloring and painting over)
