    Aquaticdog: Cheers for dropping in.

JoshDartist: Cheers for the feedback. Any comment on how I can progress is appreciated. I have been trying to introduce Warm/cool colours into my images to give it something extra. Unfortunately I don't quite know enough about colour to do it comfortably yet. I will work on it more.

Right guys it's been a while but I only have a couple of things to update with, hope you like.

    Hey man,

Lots of good work in here. I'd suggest (if you are looking to improve rather than just doing it entirely for fun) more studies. I know that they can be boring (not always) and sometimes they're a bit of a chore to motivate yourself to do, but they are SO useful. Those lighting studies I did were without reference in the sense that I wasn't looking at anything physically, but informed from knowledge of light and form. If you make yourself a checklist of relevant topics you can improve upon e.g. anatomy, light and form, perspective etc
.. then you can begin to make a schedule of some sort and really try to tackle one at a time. Breaking down the complex process of making interesting images is the only way I know of learning and improving them overall. Thats my advice, but then again lots of others have done it differently and not done as much in terms of pure "study". Saying that, you have to ask yourself "looking at the artists who are really good... are there ANY who haven't churned out the study in one form or another? In my experience I know of none.

Anyway I hope that helps. If someone had told me that 3 years ago when I started drawing, rather than figuring it out through trial and error, I'd be in a very different place now I imagine!

Tom: Hey Tom, thanks for dropping in! I think your completely right when it comes to studies. I'm so unmotivated to do them even though I know they'll benifit me greatly. I think my main subject to foucus on is form, so I'm going to start doing a life or photo study at least once a week. I think I should do a list of topics as you said and work through them. I'm sure I'd be the same if I'd just started studying earlier too...

Thanks a lot for the advice it means a lot.

Right guys I have a small update. I hope you like.

    Feedback appreciated, cheers.

OK, I'm having a little difficulty with my current image and I need all the feedback I can get...

Basically, I have been looking at this image too long and I'm not sure what is wrong with it. I know something is wrong but I just can't place it. I don't know if it's the lighting or the lack of darker tones on the background. I don't have a clue whats wrong with it and it's really starting to bug me.

So any feedback will be greatly appreciated...

    Cheers, Matt.
