Everybody are doing awesome! some high activity in this topic=))
Corrick: Epic. Very nice sense of scale!
Timmi-O-Tool: I like the movement in this one. The way the ice curls gives it an almost Munch like quality. If you pull that through in the cloud shapes as well you'll have a really nice flowing piece of art
Nick-M: A night scene with some northern lights eh? Makes it stand out immediately from the rest of us white ice blue skies nutters Make it happen!
Really liking this topic and its entries. here's mine so far:
Wow some crazy good stuff showing up here!
AdrianNagorski: Thank you! My wife pointed out the same thing. I tried to fix that.
Here's where I'm at so far...
My first EOW, here's a wip.
A creative artist works on his next composition because he is not satisfied with his previous one. When he loses a critical attitude toward his own work, he ceases to be an artist. - Dmitri Shostakovich
so the dried acrylic thumbnail on cardboard packaging from a 6 pack of Budweiser (no one finds that funny?),
now to go to A4 canvas and make major changes . . .
Added some scale and atmosphere.
Hi everybody! Great stuff!
Here is my wip. Inspired by "The Terror" by Dan Simmons.
Some cool stuff so far!

- My Artwork! -
Tried some different stuff on mine. Angled the composition a bit, some vertical spikes to break it a bit more, different colourscheme and a bit more story. And more stylization and abstraction on the environment itself.
Corrick> impressive sense of scale!
PixelTuner: liking the new elements adding to the story, but I think the composition is less efficient than before.. their placement attracts the eye too far from the focal point imo, vertical spikes dragging eyes to the right, and the flare very close to the top edge..
Little update, starting to be more happy with the compo and color (struggled to get out of the blue monochrome!!) need to fix the drawing now!
day or night....hmmmm..........

here's my little doodle.. I had an idea of a ship being squeezed between to icebergs... sun rising on the top, with some of cave of cove underneath... let's see how this goes!
Great work so far everyone
Wow, lots of activity in this topic!
Update from my sketch...dont know if I should ditch the chain in the foreground or not
unruhe: I'd ditch the chain. It's too perfectly centered and takes all of the dynamics out of your composition. I think you need some element there instead, just to the left of where the chain currently is, but I don't know what. Otherwise looking good.
I'll call this my Final for now...if I decide to continue working on it, I'll post the update...
'Look! A ship! It looks like one of those icebreakers.'
'What could've happened?'
'I don't know, but the ship still has power.'
'But it must have been here for years. There's no way it could still have power.'
'C'mon! There could still be someone on board.'
'Something doesn't quite seem right'...
Some wippy scribble. I might just start a new one later
