I've found that I have better practice sessions when there's some sort of outline or goal I need to work towards to. I'm sure thats the case with most others. So I usually make myself a few timed drills, which just helps me focus a bit better
Anywho, this topic is for sharing similar ideas around.
One that I like doing a lot is taking an object from my desk; can be anything really, and setting a 30 minute timer and drawing the object from every angle possible.
Or if you're feeling up to it, drawing 1 of every item on your desk. Works best if you have a messy desk like me.
Or if you're feeling particularly masochistic, you could try drawing each item on your desk for 30 mins each. Consider that a marathon event, or the spartan exercise of drawing.
Feel free to share anything else! It can anything other than line drawing too.
Three-drawing memory training:
1. Take a good look at the subject, then stop looking at it and try to draw it from memory.
2. Do a more proper study of the same subject.
3. Draw the subject from memory again.
If you want to set a timer, Drawings 1 and 3 should be given the same times in all cases. Drawing 2 can be given a longer time if you prefer, so if you want to do the whole thing in 30 minutes, maybe break it up into 6/18/6.

Well, OK, I'm sure I can probably get some pretty unique sketches during a rafting or bungee jump... CA action workshop, yay!
I'm a beginner so I have just a few days ago started the following basic exercises: Focus on each at a time or together: Value, perspective, composition, light, reflections, texture, and just in general making things look exciting using these "effects"
I still practice just making marks on a large 18x24 pad to give me control. Controlling your mark making is important, and when you isolate it you stop thinking about making a drawing and focus just on making the correct mark. It also makes you more aware about the elegance and beauty of the marks you make when you do draw something.
I do things like simple curves, s curves or circles, where I vary the weight and thickness and darkness of the line so that sometimes the weight is at the beginning of the mark sometimes its in the middle and sometimes its at the end. I'll do pages of these for fifteen or twenty minutes as warm-ups to give me more control when I want to draw.
Do five 30 second gestures drawings. Then go back and complete them without reference.
Boxman work on those form directions. You can use reference or work from memory. Good for proportions, perspective, and helps your life-drawing
As a warm-up before drawing sessions, I'll typically do a blind contour of my hand (surprisingly it gets better and more accurate the more I do it...) and then some gesture drawings which appear to be Vilppu-like
