    Examples of Solid Entry Level Concept Art Portfolios for EA?

    Looking for examples of portfolios that obviously aren't the best, but still have enough umph behind them that someone like EA would say "Yes, let's interview this person because they look like they could do art for us."

    I hope this is in the right area for this thread (since it isn't exactly a critique), and I couldn't find any good examples online.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

    This question is baffling me. Why do you want to study SO-SO art? That's like picking the C student to study for your exam with.. He may scrape by and pass, but you are going to gain very little information from that guy.

    You never get far when you half-ass, in anything!

    This isn't baffling. Maybe he needs to get a job fast, lacks the time to go from B++ to A level (if someone from EA wants to interview it's definitely not C student material) and wants to see if his level is enough. I think a lot of progress is made once you get inside and work for them - you're an investition and if you're worth it they'll help you get higher.

    It's a buyer's market. Why would a top publisher like EA bother interviewing someone whose portfolio was anything but "the best?" You want to know what it takes to get hired by a studio? Look at the work coming out of that studio. That's what they need.

    Consider for a moment that EA hires artists like Feng Zhu, John Wallin Liberto, Tyler West and Daryl Mandryk... they're not the kind of company that's just going to jump at an artist with a B/C-grade portfolio. Looking at your portfolio, you need to spend more time worrying about the basics of anatomy, form, color, lighting, composition, presentation, etc, etc, etc - All of the stuff that the artists who have worked at EA have spent years learning in order to get a good job.

    I often feel this way after posting something here. It wasn't stupid, because. sometimes you need to be reminded results only come with hard work. I didn't mean to drill into you, I just wanted to be blunt. I have seen really awful artists suddenly pick up and actually make great work. It's just hard work, and faster than you think, will not become hard work at all, but a lot of fun!
