Wow, no responses yet? These are really great looking. I love the bathroom sink image especially. If I was to offer a critique I'd say the perspective in the second image feels just a bit wonky. There's some structures on it that don't share the same vanishing point in the sky as the ones in the foreground do.

The environment paintings are breathtaking! Did you use a rendering program for the second one, and if you did, which one? It reminds me of Vray.

Pavel sokov: yes its madrid in the future for the second image, and madrid when I travelled back in time for the last one hehe
ElayneXiong: thank you, The 3th one seems to be the favorite, I am not sure but I guess matte paintings are not so appealing for everybody as a just painted BG.

To anyone: I tried to make a new thread with some creatures designs( my first ones ever) to share with everybody, but I received a message saying I needed to wait for aproval from a moderator. I been waiting a while now and nothing happens. I saw some posts of other user having the sane issue, but I cant seem to find the answers from the moderators.
Any thoughts from anyone??? Should I try to post it again?
I appreciate very much any answer

    Hey! Lovely stuff mate!
First one is the weakest imo. Mostly because of unclear composition. The right side competes with the castle resulting in my eyes struggling somewhere between, where is nothing interesting however. Right side is simply too detailed and sharp compared to the castle.

    Keep it up!

merlin1n : Thanks man.You are totally right, there was something about it I didnt like too much, and I think is just what you just said.
I guess I concentrated more on trying to design the dragon shaped towers and left aside te composition. damn......
By the way,I saw your work, and i just love it!!

The last image is creepily hyper real. I love the little cottages with bridges and trees. Really beautiful stuff. Do you have any suggestions for the initial stages of conceptualizing environments?

The destroyer, D art ,Mended arrow, Trixtar.: THANK YOU so much ,im glad you like them.
Mended arrow:My suggestion would be,Thumbnails.Lots of them, and trying to be as loose as possible.you want the "happy mistake" to be able to happen ,wich can spark new ideas and/or concepts.
As for inspiration I like to read fantasy books. they always give me new ideas for BGs.
    Hope it helps you

Your stuff looks so 3D, especially the last one. How did you do that with just photoshop? What reference did you use? It looks great. So impressive.

thank you so much guys for your coments.I wasn´t able to write you guys back because of the "aproved by moderator "thing.

MendedArrow: I think the best thing is to do lots of thumbnails, and try to find a nice composition. Iam not an expert as you can see , just like merl1n comented on my first image,it has an unclear composition, and I totally agree it could had been much better.Anways also try and be very loose, you want to have the option of having the "happy mistake" wich can give you more and new ideas.

Lithriel: Thank you. The last one is a Matte painting I did on transforming Madrid ,back to the 1900s.That one is the only one that has 3D ,the cars ,the lights and the fountain. It was a very basic 3d,no fancy textures nor lighting,it was more of a silhuette than anything, then the hardwork was made in photoshop.I used 3d (not big fan of 3D) because I had to do an animation using camera projection.

Thank you everyone again for you comments
