They didn't learn how to cross the road.

I didn't think it was possible to be called an artist when you have nothing to say. It's like being a writer who publishes individual words as books and expects to be praised for it.

The map is not the territory. And a game of Connect The Dots that might as easily have been smeared with excrement on the wall of a padded cell certainly is no map.

Don't engage. It's just a waste of time.

I think we should have fun with it though and see if we can out-crazy him.

The hand-sign of Spock is actually the from the Aaronic Blessings (Birkat Cohanim) done by Cohanim in Orthodox Shuls (Synagogues). Has nothing to do with masonic signs, and predates them.

Ideally it is the exact opposite of signage used by masons in meaning.

He may be anti-semetic. But this the stuff on this thread is just as misleading and extreme.

Krispy Kreme was founded in the state I live. Coincidence? I think not. Ron Paul has also visited my state. There's a synagogue nearby and Ron Paul didn't go there.

Samthemule, you might want to give conceptual art a serious thought. Those random blabbers might be ignored by itself but accompanying with an upside down chair, it is great ART !

btw, why do you still talks about Jesus if you are so independent from any school of thoughts or even logic and commonsense ?

This would look more convincing, because usually the guy saying that
will assume he is the awaken one telling everyone else to wake up.

Sam... you are ingesting junk information and you don't have the education to distinguish the good from the bad. The internet is a mine full of fool's gold... Do you know what fool's gold is and why its called fool's gold?

You have a fixed idea in your head that you are very excited about... about ancient lost knowledge, secret societies, the power of numbers.... but its a speculative fantasy world you are going on about.

You love to speculate on this fantastic idea, rather than deal with your life. This speculation will take you further and further into your own mind, and further away from reality.

What you are writing has stopped being and funny and has started to become depressing.

You probably do need to seek psychological counseling. I say this in all seriousness.

Finding patterns that exist in nature and the man made world is truly interesting. But they do tend to deceive the mind in that they seem to imply something that isn't really there, other than giving a brief glimpse of the structure of the universe perhaps, or hint at an inspired architectural intellect. A great example of this is the movie A Beautiful Mind. But adapting and structuring those patterns into works that we can all enjoy, not just a select few, is truly the real magic behind all of this. There is no enlightenment to be had by it other than a sparked imagination.

I really hope that this is true. I find this one absolutely fascinating and highly inspired.

When I was a conscript in the South African defense force, way back in the early fourteenth century, a guy once discovered some of this stuff on a hillside outside the base. He was in high excitement, convinced that he had struck it rich, and nothing I or anyone else could say could convince him otherwise. I presume his local jeweler eventually burst his balloon. :-)

You probably do need to seek psychological counseling. I say this in all seriousness.
Sam's a mystic, it seems to me. It doesn't necessarily mean he's insane, but it does mean there is simply no arguing with him.

It is my belief that one form of insanity is caused by text-delivered pseudo-knowledge that leads to false-consciousness. When the organism (sam, say) begins to fail at life due to the over-accumulation of pseudo-knowledge at the expense of actual experiential knowledge (job and social skills, for instance), the rift between text-fueled ego and brutal reality will cause a psychic breakdown. I've seen it happen many times.

    At least Icarus tried!

I think this type of person suffers from a sort of over-stimulation of their pattern-recognition facilities. It is of course important to be able to recognize patterns, but it appears as if in most organisms our pattern-recognition module is set on the too sensitive side: we recognize patterns everywhere, even when they are not necessarily meaningful. Skinner's experiments with pigeons neatly demonstrated this.

And yes, such people sometimes do go crazy. Especially if they have a tendency toward paranoia, so that they begin to see subtle signs of vast conspiracies everywhere.

It is noteworthy how many mathematicians end up crazy or very eccentric. Math is after all also to a significant extent a question of pattern recognition, and unlike in science, the patterns can be very whimsical indeed; they do not necessarily have to be testable in the same sense as scientific theories. So I would guess people who are very good at recognizing even very obscure patterns may well make very good mathematicians. But it will also make them prone to seeing crazy patterns everywhere.

That's my completely unsubstantiated theory for the day.

    Question for Sam:

In this series, which number comes next:

    1, 5, 23, 58, ?
