FatMoStanks Sketchbook
Hi guys - quite a new guy here, been lurking this forum for awhile and decided to join.
Stuff:
Some gestures, I'll think I do em on the computer next time. I find it hard to do
many on the same paper (A4) im drawing the with chalk. I guess it dosent matter what medium your using - more how much gesture rhythm.

Also did a excerise of the ctrl+paint page - awesome tutorials there

You definitely have skills. Good job on the spheres.
As for the hobo, not really feeling the colors....especially the jacket.
-
-
Some rendering -I have no idea why I setup the inital sketch so wonkey :/

@ bish0p2004
thanks man I really appreciate it !
Yup I dont like the colors - now , either. I'll play around with that. Also he's in made in Flash - I might do some sort of cellshading on his flats.
-
-
Your value studies look really good! Good job.
Sorry, nothing valuable to offer here, you seem to know what youre doing, so just keep working and I'll stop by every now and then.
Cheers!

A banana

Albit failed conan paint
- I dident take care of my shadowshape and it got pretty messy

I attempt to salavage it - I know its possible
Its rare that I overdo color - my colors mostly look washed out, however I must say Conan has aboslutly glowin chest

which made me wanna make my females more slender
-here is an attempt

Some foot anatomy - abit messy

Some basic - basic constructions of the arm

and some silly silhouettes

Im wasting alot of time color picking - not from ref but trying the train myself to recognize etc ... however when I got some likeness I find out I need more reds
so I put make an overlay and mix.

dicks

1 hour each
Here is todays - hmmm I need to orignize the shadowshape by itselfs and tweak colors via adjustments.
this is quite hard.
-
-
Hai

just 2 today
Anyways found out that I could control + mousebutton over like layer and it selects the paint - pretty sweet when you make an grouplayer mask and replace the it with the paints mask.
If that dident make sense - im sorry
the first picture is where I found out about it - which I actually draw last.
-
-
Some more painting
Hai
Male
- it seems like there are oranges in some of the light areas --- reds seem more prevelent in the chest, knees, hands, face.
Just before the terminator/shadowarea.
cons
* not as red
--
Female
Pros
Back anatomy
Cons
- crisper edges
-female needs more "darker" darks and cripser edges

male has subtle max payne 1 face ? lulz
-
-
unfocused
1 hour figures // each

lol bike herp a derp derp
-
-
drinking
meh

fuckit.now

-
figures - figures. my kingdom for "decent figure !
some figures 1 hour each ( time constraint )
-
-
enviroments
gonna do some enviroment training stuff now
1 - just layed down colors
2 - decided to break up the image in foreground , midground , background

with somewhat diffrence
-----
30 mins each - all done from grayscale to color. I rather go with color from the start. I need to look at referance also.

---
So I though I could do like an exaggeration of what I've learned ( the sense of depth ) with a simple concept. - just for fun 10 mins

also , all this painting makes me miss sketchbook pro
-
-
A sneaky diver
- I kinda tried to force a background when I always though of it without any

here is the progress

Tree brushing test

testing out making brushes in Alchemy and making tumbs. This is one of them - there is alot of them

Here is just a though or "concept" , Id want to do some kind piece on Knights vs Zombies - but with alittle bit more action .
just for funs
-
-
elfs
Been trying to do skintones
I've always dont gone with overlays and such but now Im really interested in coloring directly. Also I know they are anything but subtle but making subtle yet convincing skin is gonna take me some time.

also doing some Bridgeman observations
-
-
some moviestills 40 mins each.

so rusty
- depressing as hell. Im going to use the cutout filter on some pictures before painting them to see simplifyed versions.
doodles blah
-
-
Been awhile since I done these , some gestures lack legs etc
1mins each pose

Now onto the speedpainting - 40 mins each.

.jpg)
Yes , pretty lulz yes. I was having tunnelvision - I need to zoom out and focus on the more important things, also I use a more "lucid" brush
to aid my thinking .

-
-
Thanks for popping by my SB. You've got a great sketchbook going on here. You seem to do all the difficult stuff that I'm avoiding. Keep on working hard mate!
-
-
@ Mikko Voipio - Thanks man !
Todays moviestills (40 mins) each, I felt like most moviestill Ive done have been almost portraits - so today I picked ones with alittle bit more of an enviroment.

animals of any kind is not within my comfort zone - so here a begning of an
tiger study "anatomy".

The boxes has divisions an it helps me think about lenght and such - much like when I studied Riven phoenix structure of man series.
Although Im teach myself
-
-
Great job with the studies! Keep that routine up, and post larger images.
-
-
great progress man your digital stuff is really improving. keep it up!
-
-
back
@ Patonki - Thank you , and I will do that
@ N0N - thanks, I've broken the routine though: staying up late just aint worth it especially when you have to lift weights ands stuff during the day
excuses excuses ;O
Anyways couldent make myself speedpaint today but I done something I've been meaning todo.
bridgeman study

some other stuff - I dont really fool around with hue and saturation tools - it was fun.

Also Im still doing lion anatomy - currently doing like "xray" sketces over photos of lions. Apparently they are really stingey about who uses them ;O
stay cool cA
-
-
Been hitting a wall last days - its like , if its not a study or anything from my todo list it wouldent be worth it. Naturally this gives you fear of the black white canvas.

drew a pig and felt better.
I really shouldent separate doodling and study time so much. Spent much of the time just zoomed out - hence a tumb in the cornor which I like better, its usually means it works.
-
-
Hey, thanks for your kind words in my SB.
Just remember that doodling isn't as worthless as it might seem. If you try to incorporate some of the new stuff that you've been
learning into your doodles then you'll set those studies in stone. .gif)
Keep posting!
